Looking at the standings, here are the teams we'll be fighting for the wildcard IF we don't win the division... Baltimore/Pitt 6-3 Indianapolis 5-4 Miami 5-4 Buffalo 5-4 San Diego 4-5 That's really it... usually it's much more open but there are a lot more bad teams in the league this year. We've beaten both the Dolphins and Bills on the road, and Indianapolis and San Diego are incredibly inconsistent. I see it as us and the Ravens or Steelers as the 2 wildcard spots. Thoughts?
the ravens still have to play the entire NFC east. they will lose a lot more games and will not make the playoffs. Steelers will win the division. I would say that indy probably has the best chance. Denver or San Diego will win the division but the runner up will be out of luck.
The Ravens are already 6-3 in the conference. Pitt is 5-1. Indy is 5-2. San Diego has the head-to-head advantage on us. If we lose Thursday, we will be 4-4 in the conference and 2-2 in the division. With Miami and Buffalo it may come down to common opponents, of which the Pats are one. Lets stop making excuses for why it is OK to lose this game. It really isn't.
