i no this is a game ahead but i need to plan out what I should do if the game is only on nfl network and not local. i live in long island so i have io but if its not local cause io does not have nfl network i need to go to my friends house. I just looked on tvguide.com and the game did not show on cbs or any other channel. does anyone know what the deal is?
Yeah, it's gotta be on. I don't ever remember a Jets game not being on one of the local networks. By the way, what's the deal with the Thursday night games being so sporatic? Wouldn't it be nice to have one every week and have 3 days of football instead of two? Anyone happen to know the reasoning behind that aspect of the scheduling and also whether Thursday night appearances are based on anything like Monday night appearances are?
Same thing that happened with the Giants-Patriots last game of the 07 season. Regions within the vicinity of NY and NE will get the game.
I know that Thursday night games do start in the 2nd half. It would be tough to have them throughout the year from the beginning. Players would hate that. I do not know if there is flex scheduling with Thursdsay night games. I would guess no.
Good point, I'm sure that the players and coaches don't like having to play a game coming off a short week. As a fan I like it though.
IMHO, I believe that the NFL doesn't want to battle for viewers with baseball in the early part of the season. The football season is just starting but the baseball season is gearing up for the playoffs and the world series.
The NFL isn't worried about battling MLB, they'll beat them in the ratings every time. I think it's more of a respect btw the League's which is why they don't have a Sunday Night Game during the 1st Sunday of the WS.
The NFLN scheduled is fixed but when the outcry gets to much by those who can not access NFLN as it did for last years NYG/NEP game the NFL relented & allowed it to be broadcast by the networks.
Well, its not the same actually. If you remember, The NFL pulled strings to make that game nationally televised. But yeah, NY,NE regions will get the game.
I had to go out to a bar to catch the end of Cleveland Denver last night, but I'm glad I did because it was an epic fourth quarter. The first Thursday game of the year three years in a row has been a real good game, so I was monitoring this one. Got to the place with 10 minutes left and saw all kinds of TDs. We're gonna have trouble with Cutler if we don't get to him. Talk about a rifle.
Just so everyone knows, if you don't already, that all the NFL Network games are streaming online. Last night I hookup up the stream to my tv using an rgb cable and watched it on there. Just a heads up
