No they don't. Ngata lines up at end for the Ravens, and the Steelers are still a 3-4 team. Well...the Ravens have run a hybrid under Ryan. And from "but those lines" on you're pretty much giving them reason to draft him. Terrence Taylor is a legit 3-4 NT prospect. He doesn't have Cody's potential to dominate, but he's a similar player to Raji and could make a good 3-4 NT. Kelly Gregg and Jason Ferguson have had very good careers as 3-4 NT's who may or may not fit the optimal profile of one. Plenty of 4-3 teams could use a DT like Cody. Jacksonville...the Seahawks...the Giants...Panthers...what team *wouldn't* want a player with his physical potential? Yes, he's a freak and has massive football upside. He's still really raw right now. Really, really raw actually. Like we knock Gholston, you can't just push around NFL offensive linemen. You need technique, and Cody kind of just moves his weight around right now. 1. Seattle's going to have a top 5 choice? It's a possibility but theres alot of football left. Anyway, with the yearly injuries to Tubbs, a player like Cody would help ease that while developing. 2. The Panthers have Peko and Sims at DT, but can't count anybody out. I heard they were going to show more 3-4 fronts...Cody is that DT that allows the hybrid to exist. 3. Would the fact that we have a full DL right now stop us from drafting Cody? It's not like Rogers is dominant, and Williams plays DE for them. Corner is a possibility for them of course, but they got Wright in the 3rd round. If they believe Cody is worth the hype then that'll probably be that.
Cody is a big boy who uses his sheer size and strength to stop the run. He will be good at stopping the run in either the 4-3 or 3-4, but he doesn't make sense in the 4-3 because NTs need to get pressure on the QB and starting NFL guard and centers are good enough to not let sheer size and strength beat them. In the 3-4 all he has to do is eat up space and stop the run which is what he is best at.
If you've watched Cody, you know he can get in the backfield. He reminds me alot of Jenkins, but Jenkins uses his hands about a million times better. Jenkins is like the perfect DT to mentor this guy.
idk why u guys are taking about Cody a backup in the first or even the second that makes no sense we have so many needs to be even talkin about depth for players, i know jenkins is injury prone but choose someone else like Brace outta BC he'd be a perfect late round guy to choose for depth. Cody shouldnt come out but he probably will his stock is so high and the chargers should grab him in the 1st with their pick if he comes out.
Guys like Cody don't come around very often, I still don't think he'd be a first if he came out though
But he is gonna be a first round pick Brace or Raji maybe if he slips to the 3rd would make much better smarter picks to groom under Jenkins
How can you call Brace and Raji "better" than Cody? Cody most likely will be a first round pick, while Raji and Brace won't get a phone call until day two.
Easy...Brace and Raji are nowhere near as raw or soft as Cody...Cody is far from a finished or polished prospect.
Did u even read the post let me say it again Cody will most likely be a first round pick. The BC boys would make smarter picks for us because we already have a NT and they could be chosen much later in the draft.I dont even no if Cody is a better NT prospect than Brace or Raji, he gets alot of hype since he plays for bama.
Cody gets a lot of "hype" because he's the real deal. He leads one of best defenses in the country and Bama is in a real conference, unlike BC. SEC has so much more talent then any other conference. ACC sucks.
I have to admit I'am concerned with Cody's arms. His arms as skinny as hell. Seems like he's all fat even tho he's a NT monster. BJ Raji would be a safer pick IMO
