Yea...that hasn't hit a couple people on this board...for some reason I think they expected instant dominance from the Jets...16-0 or something...even though many agreed that 5-3 would be a good first half...and we're still very likely to go 5-3. I'm excited for this week in Buffalo. I don't think Buffalo's a better team than us.
To make a long story short we are the worst of the mediocre and a large amt of the Green colored masses think we can catch lightning in a bottle and win the whole thing. With Farve it could happen. Will prob not because alot of other teams actually have better talent and are playing really bad now. Once we play Buffalo next week we will see where we stand. The question is if we finish 8-8 what do we do when Farve leaves?
Not really. Even if we beat them we could just as likely come home and lose to the Rams, and we'll all have the same questions we have now. The league is crazy like that.
We will know where we stand regarding our talent to play with the better teams in the league. Then the question will be why are we so inconsistent. That question lies within the coaching staff if that is the case.
I think we know we have the talent. We can move up and down the field on anybody, we just can't keep giving the ball away when we're about to score. I'm not sure what the coaches can do about that besides say "Please be careful, Brett."
Im more interested in our defense being torched by a good offense actually. Especially if we have to send Lb's and blitz all the time to get pressure. Our offense can score and hopefully they can get on the same page to do it consistently. Our secondary is the scariest thing on this team to me.
Yeah, I can't believe our pass defense isn't better. We have Rhodes back there, Revis at CB, Lowery is decent for a rookie and we get pressure. It's those little slants and over the middle stuff that's killing us, and we let guys run for first downs after the catch.
Favre should only make some of the throws he does if we have a 6'10" wide receiver; we don't, so he should throw the ball away much more than he does. We used to get ticked at Penny when he threw it away; maybe he knows something Favre doesn't. Sometimes, you just have to play smart football and put it on the rest of the team to make a difference.
