Sorry Jet Fans that I have been invisible out there. But I want to let yall know that I'm still working hard and contributing on ST. Hope to turn into a superstar someday, Vernon Gholston
One time champ did note a player the Jets should have drafted. A few years ago, he wanted the Jets to draft Vernon Davis.
i was around here at the time. i wonder what would have happened if the jets did draft him and he turned it the bust he is today. would champ defend him or admit he was wrong?
That would have been really interesting. However, I am not positive that champ noted Davis specifically prior to the draft. It is fact, though, that days after the draft, champ identified Davis as the player he wanted on the Jets. Maybe champ can finally get his wish this offseason.
just read article in espn magazing about lamar woody on pittsburgh who is having a monster season, he sat for most of rookie year last year and worked with kevin greene the whole offseason, the stupid college rule kept gholston from working with the jets until june it thwarted his development for sure, I believe we get this guy for an entire year he is gonna begin to flourish next year.
Gholston doesn't start where I believe Mario Williams did. If Gholston played every snap then he'd probably have at least a couple sacks by now. I haven't noticed Gholston taking defensive snaps for awhile, how many snaps is he getting a game?
I'm not saying he SHOULD start, because obviously Pace and Bryan Thomas are better OLB's than him right now, I'm just stating that if he played every snap he probably would have a couple sacks. Is that an unrealistic prediction? Do you think he'd have 0 sacks after playing every snap for 7 games?
Its truly unbelievable how bad this guy looks. I have re-watched a number of kickoffs to key in on Gholston on kick coverage. Even there he looks completely lost. He just doesn't look like a football player, if that makes any sense at all.
