We just fucking won a football game. In the NFL it doesn't matter how you win...you just have to win. Yet all I see are posts about how bad we suck and that Favre is garbage. Do you realize that we've already won as many games as during the entire 2007 season!?! We have a team that is making progress and has outstanding talent all around. We aren't an elite team and we have a long way to go...but for fucks sake grab a beer and party...WE WON! All of my football buddies and I are partying over the win and talking about how great it is to have a QB that can explode at any moment. Sure Favre made some dumb plays that cost us but he drove us down the field when it counted and won us the game. Would you rather have a QB that went 20/30 250 yards 1TD and No INTS AND LOSES or a QB that throws equal TDs and INTs AND WINS? I'll take Brett Favre and this Jets team any day compared to our last decade of shit. All I'm saying is enjoy the win and lighten up! We're fucking 4-3 and right in the mix. If you aren't happy having a HOF QB who can beat anyone on any given day, then you will never be happy. I'm happy as fuck all week cuz we won and everyone saw Favre lead us to victory. Peace the fuck out.
I couldn't agree more. So much of the whiny crap I that gets posted here at times makes me feel embarrassed to call myself a Jet fan. Some of the folks here seriously need to either get laid, get a life or just get a grip.
Glad some of you feel me on this one. You need to celebrate wins no matter what. Quit worrying about the future and focus on one game at a time. We are sitting pretty at 4-3 compared to some teams (ahhaa Chargers!) =D I'm all abou tthis NYJets team...don't care about media or darksiders.
The problem is we are not making progress, I think we are worse now than we were week 1 and that shouldn't be the case. I expect we'll get better but I keep saying it every week and we keep struggling, hopefully we bust out in Buffalo. I feel good that we won(it sure beats last week) but I am very concerned.
Dude, it isnt wins it's how you win them. We barely won against KCCCC, you hear that KC!!! Herm's fucking team and we were literary on the verge of losing. Seriously, if we play like this do u expect us to beat Buffalo or Denver coming up because I sure dont I apperciate ur enthuisam and so am I. actually it is about wins. you dont get extra points for style. i dont care if they scrape by with a win every game for the rest of the season. the goal is to win, there is no bonus for doing it with style. not that i wouldn't prefer to have won by 20 yesterday, but ill take any type of win over a loss.
I celebrated my ass off last night, but I'm not going to fool myself into thinking that the Jets, as they are playing right now, will do squat if they luck into the playoffs. There are a lot of problems and they are there every week. They don't appear to be addressed from week to week. That's not heartening to me.
Pretty much I woulda felt the same way after the Raiders game had we either won, lost, or tied in OT Problems in particular: Pass D Our LB's are piss poor in coverage TE's killing us Eric Smith continuing to suck Drew Coleman (even tho he had a good game for a change) needs to be replaced Lack of a deep threat (Coles and Cotch are good but dont have the sepration to leave from defenders. Dustin Keller not being used enough Offensive coordinator or just the CS being plain idiotic at times Favre with his INT's at bad times (mainly red zone) Our FG unit is way too inconsistent. (Neither Nuge or Feely are consistent, when is Carney a FA) And did I miss anything?
You misunderstand the purpose of this board. I don't think anyone who was at the game or watching on TV wasn't celebrating. Almost every Jets fan celebrated the win. Then a lot of us come here and discuss what this team needs to be better at. A lot of us feel strongly about the coaching, or something else. Honestly, what is the use in coming to a message board just to say yay we won rah rah! every week?
You have certainly come to the wrong place if you want to see people happy about a win. I fully believe that if the Jets win a Super Bowl there will be a few people on here complaining that they didn't win by enough points or that it's cool we won the Super Bowl and all, but now look at what a shitty draft pick they'll have! I made a comment after the Arizona game that style points mean nothing, and some bonehead told me I was an embarrassment to Jet fans! Whatever. Without negitive you can't have positive, dark and light, ying and yang. The universe screams opposites. So no matter what the outcome of anything is, a game an election. People will never agree so you have to keep that in mind when people post negitive shit. I post happy & I post pissed off. You could make a case for your argument and you could make a case for the other side. Thats the great thing about life.
We live in the real world... this is a world were we play Buff, NE, Ten and Denver in 4 of our next 5 games. This is also a world where I don't feel comfortable handing us a win vs STL 2 weeks from now. On top of that our QB leads the NFL in INTs. On top of all that our Pass D is horrendous. Piled on top of all that we SHOULD be 5-2 right now!! And finally, our offensive coordinator is clueless. Whats there to be happy about?
Just because we barely won against a shitty team, does not mean we can't or will not beat a good team like the Bills. Its the NFL men. Shit don't make sense. Betters know that. We sucked yesterday. Stop looking for someone to blame. We won, we are 4-3 and playing for a possible tie for 1st place. We have not played a complete game yet. We are due. Tell me, who's not gonna be pumped when they wake up Sunday morning???? I thought so. I am gonna avoid the negative media crap and just let the week roll. Trust me, its the only way to enjoy it.

It's like asking monkeys to improve in mathematics so they can compete with college students. They simply do not have the capacity. I know this because there has been ample opportunity to learn. I sense that the players are beginning to revolt a bit--Jenkins demeanor and comments seemed directed at the CS--as though, we are good players playing our hearts out yet we can barely beat the worst team in the league. He didn't call out the CS, but I think he alluded to them.
