His question was what did have the NYJs done in the last 40 years not what one specific player did. Even so with WW acheivements where did that get us?
H'mm I take issue with your post since if you agree that we are NOT a SB caliber team this year then we DONOT have the luxary to sit the 6th overall player in the draft down & not play him. Just compare us to the NYGs & I hope you can see the difference in the 2 teams. How do you think our OL would have handle Pitt yesterday & be honest with your reply
1 was. The rest were first round picks w/ the exception of Kalimba Edwards who went in round 2. By the way...Gholston didnt go top 5 either..
i don't think its gholston's fault at all. If the CS isn't putting him what do u want him to do? If he's not good enough to go in then that's on the coaching staff and their inability to develop him as a player. Mangini's been saying how he's impressed with his play on ST hasn't he? I think the jets really need to start playing him because they need to take a risk with the defense playing as poorly as they are
Gholston is the untimate gym rat. All speed, muscle but no freakin brains. Hell the pats got a better player with Mayo. Good job doughboy.
True, but to be fair the Jets didn't need a MLB, the Pats did. Mayo has been fantastic, for a rookie starting in a complex 3-4 defense, and to think jet fans tried bashing the PAts for the pick.
:rofllease...the only reason Mayo is starting is because there is nobody better. He's been okay but is having a tough time shedding blockers. I have no doubt he'll be good but right now he is just decent. Gholston isnt playing as much because we have Thomas and Pace who have been exceptional.
Wow you really have no clue what your talking about do you? In 7 games Mayo has 48 tackles 38 solo, a saftey and two recovered fumbles. He's on pace for over 120 tackles in his rookie season, sure looks like he's having trouble shedding blocks. Only a Jet fan can spin it so in their own head Gholston isn't a major disapointment and Mayo is.
No. His question is what have the Jets done in 40 years to make you happy. I just pointed to one of the guys I admire the most, whose play was an inspiration and a joy to watch. There have been lots of others. As bad as the franchise has been, and its bad, its got some soul. But you have to like the Jets to understand what I'm talking about.
Gorgan let me ask you this. If Gholston was on the board at number 7 do u think the pats woulda picked him or still gone with Mayo? I have no doubt Gholston woulda been their pick so dont go saying the Pats werent interested cause they surely were.
Why would they disagree with me? They were on the field, that's the point. You have to be out there as an OLB/passrusher in order to learn and improve.... Did you read my post even?
Yes, but Woodley saw the field and only finished with 14 tackles. Look at what he's doing this year. Who would you rather sit? Pace or Thomas? Our CS isn't creative enough to get them all on the field at the same time, so who sits just so Gholston can get a crash course?
sweet the same thread we have had every week about the guy, with the same arguments on both sides. can we all get over it?
so your saying we should not have taken bpa and reached for a lineman? who should have been drafted at 6?
he usually answers. i doubt he will give me a name on who should have been drafted. but im sure i get a response from him at some point.
