Ask Chad if he'd trade his yds/game average for Favre's TD total. Look, Chad is having a great season and I applaud him. When he was competing with Kellen I was rooting for Chad the whole way. But 3 stats count. TDs, INTs, and Wins. Everything else is irrelevant. Favre wins 2-1. Favre's not lighting it up but we're better off with Favre than Pennington. Maybe not by much but we're definately not worse off.
The Jets run much better than Miami. The Jets average 4.6 per carry, tied for 4th in the NFL. The Dolphins average 3.8, tied for 22nd. In rushing yardage, the Jets are 17th. Miami is 22nd. In attempts, the Fins are 21st, the Jets are 26th(!). But the difference is not large in absolute terms: The Fins have 189 attempts and the Jets have 175, so the Fins have just two more per game (27.0 v. 25.0). Miami obviously wants to run, but hasn't managed to establish it except against NE and SD. On the other hand the passing game has been very effective. The Jets seem to be very good at running, but don't do it that much, even though their passing game has been very up and down. I don't want to exaggerate the difference though: the Fins average 30.7 passes a a game, the Jets 34.4.
No he wouldn't, not w/ 11 INTs. It doesn't do us any good to have all those TDs w/ all the INTs and fumbles. Chad has been the MUCH better QB w/ half the talent around him that Favre has.
Yes yes, bring Pennington the playmaker back after Favre leaves. I hope the day comes when I can see the deer in headlights expression again rather than the we're going to win this game one.
fire mangini and the entire coaching staff... maybe not the SP coach but bring in Cohwer and let him chose his staff.... our playcalling is real bad, bring in Singletary lol
It just goes to show that the Jets have a hard time doing anything right. If chad had stayed with the Jets he still would have sucked. I hate to say it but it's a Jet thing.:bills_suck: BEAT DA BILLS!
I wanted to shoot myself after looking at that stat comparison, and of course this little nugget: Farve, a sure first ballot HOF-mer, is tied for the league lead in INTS with SF's J. T. O'Sullivan, an undrafted journeyman QB.
Helped Miami: Yes. Of course, we must remember, maimi didn't have a QB. At all. So, anyone who was competent would help Miami. As for the jets being worse off having farve over Pennington? How do you know that? Pennington had pretty much this exact same offense last season, and was unable to do anything with it. Yet, Favre already in 7 games, produced the same win total as the Jets all last season got. And sure, favre does tie the league for # of ints, but he also has, as has been pointed out, twice as many scores. Oh and think Chad doesn't have to throw for TD's because of the running game in Miami? http://www.nfl.com/teams/miamidolphins/profile?team=MIA Miami: 9 Rushing TD's http://www.nfl.com/teams/newyorkjets/profile?team=NYJ Jets: 6 Rushing TD's Total: Miami: 16 Jets: 21 So, despite the turnovers, the Jets are scoring way more points then the phines.
The Fins have 9 Rushing TDs compared to the Jets 6TDs. You're in the vast minority if you think the Jets have a more formidable rushing attack than the Phins.
And which team has the better talent? BY FAR it's the Jets. Chad's had an amazing year with a no-name cast of receivers. A lot of Jet fans owe Chad an apology for their treatment of him last year. In a way I'm glad he's doing well, but I'm worried that if the season ever came down to Week 17 we'd never survive and it'd be the ultimate gotcha.
and who has BY FAR the better talent? The Phins. What's talent if you don't have anyone to coach them and utilize them?
Its schotty.. what else could it be... Schottys disgusting find offense is whats the problem.. It doesnt fool anybody the shit is clear as day .. If pennington was here itd be the same shit, the problem is the offensive coordinator...
I don't even think it was so much the injury with Chad as much as the fact that he started pressing after the fans cheered his injury with Clemens breathing down his neck. He threw puzzling INT's last year - especially in the clutch - I'd never seen him throw at any other point in his career. I think you meant to say who's got the better coaching, and point taken but we all thought of our coach as Mangenius after his first year too. Mangini and Schott get too wrapped up into trying to fool the other team (passing when they should run, and vice-versa) and they sacrifice common sense in doing so. There was no reason to pass 65% of the time yesterday against a run defense that couldn't stop Navy's wishbone.
Agreed: I don't know if it would matter if chad was here, or Favre, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Romo, McNabb, Palmer, etc. I really don't know if it would matter WHO was the QB of this team: The playcalling is atrocious. Sure, maybe the three ints don't happen, but maybe you don't score 28 points either because another QB may not have moved the ball so well. I am not tearing down Favre, or saying Chad would do better then Favre. I am saying that SHotty has proven now, ove rthe last two seasons, that he is just a horrible play OC. End of story.
Nevertheless, the Jets do have a more formidable rushing attack than the Phins. Of course, Favre might have something to do with that, as well as the maligned Jets coaching staff.
