I think his point was that if it was incomplete then you punt and the other team gets the ball in about the same place anyway. So you could argue that a deep INT is the same as throwing it away & then punting about the same distance.
I understood - basically saying we punted on 3rd down instead of 4th down. Excellent game plan. INT's never help. Saying ones dammage was minimized does not mean there wasn't damage.
Don't you understand? We have to STRETCH THE FIELD. This is vital to winning, duh. </sarcasm> Unfortunately, INT's just come with the territory with QB's that can stretch the field. I think it's interesting that to most posters on this board, it was a foregone conclusion that a QB that can stretch the field was clearly superior to a weaker armed, but more accurate QB.
That's funny, how many INTs do McNabb, Palmer, Brady and Manning throw? They all stretch the field but only Favre has 11 and the league lead halfway through the season.
Cannot agree with you more! Favre is as Favre does! He wouldn't change we just have to get used to the fact that the whole season will be a roller coaster ride. I am still coming to grips with this fact. Hopefully we can pull of some kind of miracle season but I won't be holding my breathe.
