Look. It's more of the stupid playcalling by the coach than Favre. If you are going to spread the defense, AT LEAST USE THAT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE. Where the HELL has the quick slant been? Leon/Stuck will excel in that role, no? Again, you will NOT see that. BS is full of bullshit in his head. So far, the short routes have been mostly swing to the RBs or short hooks. no passing in strides. It's just sad. This Offensive play calling is just a pathetic disgrace that shouldn't even belong to the league of NFL.
The interceptions are all the coahes fault. Just ask all the Favre fans. The guy has never thrown a bad pass that wasn't someone elses fault.
I'm pretty sure the coaches think if we keep doing these short passes the entire game it'll lead to less INTs. They were wrong of course.
He has two super bowl trips, a ring, a ton of playoff appearances (including a NFC championship game last year), and he owns every single record a QB can possibly have. Most TD passes Most INTS Most Wins The guy is a legend because of what he has been able to do for 16 years. He is still doing well in spurts right now, which is good enough for me given all the shit he had to go through just to start a single game this season.
More likely, it's now proving to everyone how lucky Favre was while he was at GB - he actually had headcoaches/offensive coordinators that could gameplan ahead of time, and make the game-time adjustment as well. Now, even with his abilities and credentials, Favre the Great cannot overcome the foe from within.
I've never said Favre could do it without a good coach to keep him in place. He definitely has always had the talent but if the coach isn't giving him anything good then he starts trying to force things. I do not agree with you saying he was lucky for 16 years though. You can be lucky for a year or two but 16 years? That proves it wasn't luck.
I am saying that, the fact the he could have competent coaches for a string of 16 years is, in fact a luck. Or should I say, a coach that won't handcuff him? (If you are that slow to get it, this doesn't even count as LUCK. get it?) Look at the game planning the Jets are showing week in week out. If you look at that, then look back at the past 16 years, wouldn't you say "Wow"? He never had THIS bad of coaching staff. That's a luck by its own right.
we got to fix it and we will be fine, just think how the score would have been with 0 tuurnovers instead of 3
We cannot play like this all the time and expect to win that's why we lost last week, weak assed playcalling
I believe in the spread today, I saw one slant play, which was complete for 8 yards. Now, I ask you, why is that not inserted more. If your going to run the spread, the slant play is the easiest play for Favre to complete. He has the accuracy, and strong arm, to stick in the small window on the slant. In fact, slants is what made GB tick last year. Coach - if you refuse to stop going to the spread most of the game, then at least insert the passing plays that Favre is best at. All these dump offse, WR screens.. etc... that is not Brett Favre football.
Arguably, the jets would of had just one more score. Mos tlikely, a FG. So jets with 31 points. The other team with 17. It really wasn't as big of a difference to me as most make it out to be. Deep pass interceptions don't necessarily hurt your team in general. It's just like another punt.
I'm not going to dispute that Favre played badly today, but actually this specific play was not Favre, it was Stuckey. Favre was throwing to where he was going to be, and he just stopped running. Just plain stopped. Watch a replay if you can find a way. It might have still ended up being an INT anyway, who knows, but it should have been 5,000 times harder than it was. Stuckey had come to such a stop that he couldn't even try to make a tackle. The long INT into double coverage on Jericho (or was it Coles?) earlier though ...that was definitely on Brett.
Deep passes for INT's on third and long (when most teams success rate is low) don't hurt the team. However, on first and second downs these INT's definitely do count and are obviously detrimental. And winning by 14 points is a lot better than winning by 4 in my book.
Not just GB offense, but the WCO in general. 5 WR spread - then quick slant is always a very sound and effective way to pick up a blitz too. (Never done that last week against Raiders, no fucking wonder.) Which means: if you are employing 5 WR spread set, and then don't use quick slant at all (doesn't have to be the same guy - that's why it's FIVE WR SET, not 1 WR set) you are wasting a good amount of human resource. Jets are exceptional at that.
Usually I like to convert a 3rd down. SO I dont see how a deep INT is a positive thing. And thats part of the deal. People saying we need to open up the offense should understand every time we do it becomes an INT.
Flat out Favre sucked today. Yeah the Jets won congrats on barely beating a shitty team coached by a bad High School coach. If it weren't for Leon Washington, a player this coaching staff has no fucking clue how to use, this game is a Loss! This was the most frustrating win I have ever watched in my life........... Favre was part and parcel to that, as was the coaching staff. They all sucked. Asking who sucked less is like asking what smells better, cat shit or dog shit!
