It's all about next week. If we win the game, we could be tied for first place in the division. This next week is possibly the biggest game of the entire season. I want GangGreen opinions on what we need to do to beat Buffalo Bagels.
feed leon.he's dangerous.ideally i'd like to see him get about 15 touches in the game. use him more on first and second down runs and not just pitch outs and off edge but a few up the gut to keep the jills honest.2nd more stuckey in the slot.i think they could get him across the middle for some nice gains.on defense justlike any game goota get the qb.that means no more 3 man rushes ever seriously bob ever.you got 4 lbs that can and will get to the qb.send one every down i don't care who.we do this and we have a chance.
1. Hold Marshawn Lynch down. Wont stop him but he will be a true test to see how far this run D has been. Jenkins hopefully is healthy. 2. Pressure on Edwards who when comfortable is a gamer. Often looks for Hardy and Evans......... 3. We need a healthy Coles and the way Ginn was burning the Bills D, this may be a game that barring weather Favre's arm might just be a weapon. 4. Hope Schobel misses this game like he did with the Miami game. He has given D'Brick fits time and time again and is a damn good DE 5. Run the ball with Thomas Jones, Buf's D can sometimes still be suspect with the run and can give up 1-2 TDs. Hopefully Scottenheimer can realize that Jones needs some more carries.
Notwithstanding that I fully expect the Jets to have their asses handed to them, no picks by Favre would be a start.
As improbable as it is the Jets during week 1 who still had Favre adjusting to the offense were better than the Jets now who have a Favre adjusted to the playbook who thinks he can zip the ball between three defenders to a wideout who is falling down
We need one of our stat gurus to see our winning % vs the Bills in 1pm games and 4pm games. For some reason i am thinking we usually win 1pm and lose 4pm games vs them. Not that it matters, just a weird thought i just had
Simple: 1. Protect our QB 2. Don't turn the ball over (that means you, Brett) 3. Prevent the quick strike/big gain for a score Do this and we win. Don't do this and we lose.
Next week at Buffalo. It's a must win game, even more of a must win game than this week. Hopefully the Jets show them what they are made of, and BEAT BUFFALO! Oh look, they just lost to Miami:bills_suck:
If the CS doesn't fuck this one up, which is less likely than me winning the lottery, this game can be won.
i can sense already the froth bubbling to the surface and its only 3 hours after the gem against the chiefs....... my only question for this week is as follows...How many big road games have the jets won in the last 10 years that made you say WOW, and earn the team some respect from the league thereafter? you do not need too many fingers i can tell you that. jil
1. As a Marshawn Lynch fantasy owner, he has not done much this year. He's tough to stop in the red zone, but the offensive line has struggled creating consistent holes. Fred Jackson is a good 3rd down back, who could be a pain in the ass. 2. Definitely need to pressure Edwards. Evans will probably beat us deep once, and he's dangerous. 3. I didn't see how Ginn got his yards, but Stuckey is the most similar guy we have to Ginn, I would think. 4. Schobel hasn't been as dominant recently, but he's definitely a test for Brick if he plays. 5. Jones AND Washington. TJ does need more carries than he got today for sure though.
Leon Washington needs to show up (and not be suspended for taking 'roids). Oh, and we also need to control the ball and to finish drives, punctuating them with Touchdowns. We've easily given away at least 1 TD per week by turning the football over in the red zone, which (as glad as I am that he's gone) Noodle Arm was good at avoiding.
Fred Jackson has been running the ball better than Lynch. Jackson has been a beast. We need to pressure and hit Edwards all day. If we do that, we can win. If we don't, he'll go like 30-34 with 290 yards.
Jets at Patriots, 2002, week 16. Jets at Patriots, 2006 Jets at Chargers, 2002 Jets at Chargers, 2004 I'm sure there are others, but those four come to the top of my head.
