I know it's early but it nice to see us ranked at 8th, and better still it's from Pete (Jet Hater) Prisco at CBSSportsline! Maybe this year will be different after all.

I posted we were at 15. Ok, that's even better.

It doesn't really matter where we're ranked by the so-called experts. They "know nothing" when we're ranked badly, so they still know nothing now.

That's my thinking..... these guys can all put out rankings but the only one that matters to me is the one that comes out the day after the Super Bowl. If we're not #1 in that then I don't really care what they are.

Prisco just wants to look intelligent because we are facing most of the worst teams in the league this year and we aren't a shambles like the Pats at this point and aren't paper tigers like the Bills and Dolphins.

Over-ranked in my opinion. These so called experts tend to overreact so much to individual wins and losses, it's ridiculous. Giants probably fell from 1 to 6 based on last night's loss.

Exactly. I really like our team, but nobody should put any stock into these BS rankings.

Yeah -- entertainment purposes only. But when was the last time we made a top 10 in these things?

    Party On!

I suppose that depends on what your definition of 'good' is.

We'll see when and if we make the playoffs. I know you will have trouble believing this, but I am very optimistic about this season so far and how the team has been progressing. But the level of competition ramps up high when you enter the postseason.

I'll have fun all year long, but the playoffs determine who is good and who is not. From coaching staff to backup scrub player.

The whole idea of Power Rankings is ludicrous to me. I don't buy into the whole 'weak schedule' thing, "bad" teams upset "good" teams more because they have favorable matchups that tip the balance than because the total level of team talent is better.

Prisco hates the Jets and Favre, so this is a bit surprising. He still managed to get a diss in there, though. I'd probably rank the Jets in the 12-14 range now.

    Winning record.

11th in total yardage on D. 22nd on offense, meh but not really unexpected. New QB plus some good run D's.

8th in Points allowed. 9th in points scored.

Tied for second in sacks. We've had 18 sacks, and given up 12. We're 16th in sacks allowed.

Theres a ton of things we're good at.

I agree to a point with the rest of your post...and it'd take a while to rebut something I kind of agree with anything. I want to see us in the playoffs, but I think we have a good shot of ending up there. The only team that whooped our ass or even scared me *while* we were playing them were the Chargers. We shoulda/woulda/coulda beat the Pats, and I'm not all that intimidated playing them. I'm not really too terrified of any one team, because this is probably the most physically talented team we've put out since the '04 one.
