Jets Pro Bowlers So Far: -Brett Favre -Alan Faneca -Nick Mangold -Calvin Pace -Darrelle Revis -Kris Jenkins
Pretty solid list up to this point in the season. Pace has looked great, Jenkins has been Huge, we know about Favre, and the two OL have been consistent. Consistent enough to make the prowbowl? Don't know... there are alot of good OL in the AFC (look at the jags, colts, steelers, titans, etc, a lot of really good OL)
The Rhodes vote is mostly because he was denied it when he deserved it the past two years. He also came up big in the NE game but everyone seems to forget that since it was a bad game for the rest of the team.
I don't know if D'Brick gave up a sack yesterday, I don't think he did. But prior to yesterday I think he had only given up 1 all year.
Not to bust your balls but if Brick isn't a Pro-Bowler, how the fuck are Mangold and Faneca? Brick is by far the better player of the three this year and it is not even close.
Word. Our legit Pro Bowlers look like Favre, Thomas, Pace, Jenkins, and Revis. Bryan Thomas has been sick this year.
Faneca is on my list because his name and he has played alright. Faneca goes to the Pro Bowl, don't you guys know how the probowl works? haha.
Joe Thomas is a damn good LT and a much better run blocker. However, Brick is a superior pass protector(which has alot to do w/ the fact that he has another year development on Thomas) and Thomas commits alot more penalties(not sure about this year but last year he was a false start/holding waiting to happen). Thomas is better all around but again...brick is a better pass blocker due to superior athleticism.
Joe Thomas was better the first day in the NFL than D'Brick is right now. He is every bit the pass blocker that D'Brick is and he is on another planet in the run game.
Switch Steinbach with Clarke, and D'Brick probably looks world better than Thomas. Supporting cast is so underrated when looking at young players. I wouldn't trade D'Brick for Thomas straight up. The Browns fans would probably say the same, but that just means both sides have good players. Thomas has been overrated IMO.
Joe Thomas was pro bowl caliber his rookie year, and I think the fact he was a rookie is what kept him out. He had no name in the NFL, just a big one at Wisconsin. We all know nationally how many people pay attention the badgers. D'Brick is not any better at pass blocking then Joe Thomas is. Say what you want about athleticism, but just because Thomas is bigger doesn't mean he isn't athletic. Did you watch last night? The guy can move, and has really great technique. Plus, he's huge, so it's hard to just shove him out of the way. D'Brick, at best pass blocking, is comparable to Joe thomas in production at it, however they get the job done slightly different. Still, To say D'Brick is superior in any way to Joe Thomas is just being a homer. Joe Thomas has been one of the best LT's in the entire NFL since stepping on the field.
i have doubted dbrick a lot on this board, but with his added weight he is starting to look like a quality left tackle, that and favre is a master manipulator of the pocket, dbrick is not a pber yet, but i am optimistic about his improvement
