Well, all of us who thought that Chatman wouldn't make an impact are surely eating crow right now. Chatman was definitely the catalyst to the Jets victory.
Nice to see TJ get some TDs today. I wish we would have gotten some more rushing yards today out of our offense against the 29th ranked rushing D, though. Other teams have carved them.
we may if, but the fact of the matter is that we have favre as our qb now, so our carries per game is expected to drop conciderably.
still im glad tj was able to get in the end zone, he should be able to go a full week now without any haters.
It a separate but related not, PFT reported that Casserly said on the pre-game show that OAK is shopping Fargas and Bush. It would make sense for the Jets to at least inquire about Michael Bush.
I would see about Fargas too. I know Washington is the teams mascot, but he is strictly a special teamer/3rd down back. We still could use a game breaker/2nd running back.
Scoring 3 times on the ground is impressive for Jones, but he was doing it against one of the worst rushing defenses in the entire league. That doesn't close the conversation at all.
Did you really expect him to make much of an impact after missing the first 4 games of the season? That says less about Chatman than it does about you.
It was his first game back. You're really going to jump on here and say "look at me!" "I was right!!", after the first game back? cool.
No, this isn't about whether I'm right or not, honestly I don't care who is getting the touches as long as they are moving the ball and scoring the touchdowns. The bigger point I was making is that he is not better than Thomas Jones, and he is not the savior for this running game. I also firmly believe that if the running game is going to improve, it has to happen on the o-line and not with the running backs... unless we can acquire someone like Tomlinson of course... Should I just not discuss the Jets? That is what this forum is for right?
Your original comment was mocking people who think Chatman will make an impact in the running game. It's hard to interpret it any other way, and it's champesk to make that kind of statement at this point. Who said anything about you not discussing the Jets? If you want to mock people who believe Chatman will make an impact, at least give him a few weeks to get back on track with the team. I didn't realize mocking people was an essential aspect of discussing the Jets.
Bingo! Jones had a decent day against an awful run D. Lets see if he and the O-line can do it against a decent front 7.
I wasn't mocking anyone. I was mocking the notion that Chatman is better than Jones, but I was NOT mocking anyone in particular. It was you and Abyzmul who made a direct attack at me for stating my opinion. Nowhere in your profiles do I see that either of you have a role that involves moderating how people say the things they mean to say. I respect both of you for your knowledge of the Jets and as posters, but on a personal level, if you don't like what I have to say, then too bad, deal with it. The report post button is in the bottom left if you feel the need.
No where did I ever try to act like a mod or tell you what to post. Your post came off as stupid to me. I think it's stupid that you would mock "the notion" of Chatmans role in the Jets offense after his first game back when everyone else has 4 games on him. If you don't like that opinion, then deal with it. I never had any problems with you and still don't. I just thought your post was premature at best and shared my opinion. For the record my opinion has been and still is that Chatman will have a bigger role than he did yesterday but mostly in goal line situations.
Well I'm sorry if you believe my post is stupid. I believe that the thought of Chatman replacing Jones is stupid. I think the Jets run blocking needs to significantly improve and then ALL the running backs will be able to succeed. But as far as pecking order goes, it is perfectly right as it is right now in my opinion.
