I think all of our linemen are good. I'm just saying out of the five starters, would you not pick him as the 2nd most expendable? You don't want to lose your LT. You don't want to lose your stud center. You don't want to lose the OG you paid a lot of money for. That leaves Woody and Moore. I'd rather lose the OG than the OT.
My goodness, how can you be so calm about it?! My take is more along the lines of: Oh Shit! I really hope we don't have to start Wayne Hunter. He wasn't even good enough to supplant Anthony "pinwheel" Clement last year. We can only hope that the "developmental" part of his "developmental player" tag has advanced beyond getting outplayed by a guy that doesn't even have a team right now.
:smile::breakdance: Well, when you put it that way..., hmy: And you're not going to believe this but the Bengals signed a kicker today!! http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/...etwork&page=nfl/news/newstest.aspx?id=4184678 Bengals sign K Dave Rayner Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Bengals have signed kicker Dave Rayner. The four-year veteran is expected to spell Shayne Graham on kickoffs for Sunday's game against the New York Jets. Graham has been bothered by a sore groin, but will likely still kick field goals and extra points. Rayner has kicked with Indianapolis, Green Bay, Kansas City and San Diego. He appeared in two preseason games this year with Detroit, but was released in August. The Bengals opened a roster spot by releasing fullback Reagan Mauia. 10/11 14:16:08 ET
Woody Now Probable (KFFL) Dan Leberfeld, of Jets Confidential, reports New York Jets OG Damien Woody (illness) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 10. He is listed as probable for Week 6 game and is expected to play.
that was october 10th... today is the 11th. thats yesterday. he was downgraded today, Saturday...........wow.
gotta be the flu or a sinus infection that affect his lungs badly. Its that time of the year. This sucks, he was doing really well minus a few false starts.
I don't know how up to date the NFL.com injury report is, but that has him listed as probable. http://www.nfl.com/injuries
I know you're joking, but the initial reason Magic Johnson was out of camp back in the day was "the flu".
^^The OP source, baltimore sun was published 19 hours ago according to google. It differs from the NFL.com one in placing Woody as doubtful, and Palmer as questionable. (NFL.com has Palmer as doubtful). The following was published 21 hours ago according to Google and matches exactly the NFL.com report and actually states that it is based explictly on that report and as can be seen in the address, has a pub. date of 10/10. http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/10/10/sports/FBN-NFL-Injury-Report.php I would like to find another source showing Palmer as questionable and Woody as doubtful before going against the nfl.com source.
Kris Jenkins' back injury would be more of a concern if I were a Jets fan. Back injuries are always trouble.
D'Brick is a few steps above a bust he should be doing better it still seems like hes not completley sure what he should be doing. mangold has completley surpased him and stepped in the shoes of mawae. our interior linemen are pretty good we should be running up the middle with thomas and i want to see more of leon washington between the gaurds i think hes alot better there than people give him credit for.
I even read in the record today...he was at practice and said he couldnt keep anything down and lost 12-13 pounds but felt much better today and he said he was a definite for Sunday.
Sometimes less information is better. When we were kids Joe Klecko just showed up and played every Sunday unless he was totally out, there weren't tons of storys all week to read about he might not play or whatever.
http://www.northjersey.com/sports/jets/Mangini_names_son_after_Jets_QB.html Heres the link on Woody..its the last paragraph.
