How about Jason Mother Fucking Bay? He played his ass off this series. Clutch hitting, great fielding. Lester or Bay MVP of this series.
A large part of the blame needs to fall on Aybar, he completely missed the ball on a bunt. That's inexcusable when it's a squeeze. It's routine to bunt the ball and Aybar fucked up.
Like I said, they get all this credit for "aggressive" play, but their fundamentals are pretty terrible.
Minaya has already made a call to K-Rod to close for the Mets...Another Latino on that team, doesn't hurt getting a guy who closed 62 games.
If I'm them I let Texiera walk and make a push for Prince Fielder. He is going into the last year of his contract and you know the Brewers won't resin him.
Yeah but they didn't lose this series because of fundementals, they lost because the Red Sox are better and Buck Martinez continues to go on that the ump blew the call on the Willits play. He is arguing that Willits should have been safe.
Fielder is gonna go where the money leads him, and I think the Angels push hard for Teix and reup Vlad on a short, big dollar contract. They have a $9 mill option on Lackey they of course will pick up. FRod is gone. G. Anderson will get restructered, no way they pick up the $14 mil option. Garland is probly gone as well.
I have no idea where he gets that theory. Varitek CLEARLY tagged him out, then dropped the ball when his glove hit the ground well afterward, and he clearly had control until then. I do think that their fundamentals did definitely cost them. Vlad getting thrown out, the poor defense, and lack of situational hitting were what decided the series.
I can't believe that they called for a squeeze and I can't believe they pitched to Lowrie instead of Varitek. Why pitch to a hitter when the pitcher's spot is on deck?
I'm so fucking sick of the Hispanic player criticism of Minaya. It's pointlessly racist. Give the man his due, he signs shitty players of ALL races.
Dude I totally forgot about that... And I'm sure Yis forgot about that as well. Way to stay on top of things bro.
the problem with the suicide is that the Angels had the momentum and the count was 2-0 -- make the pitcher make a pitch. and the pitch was a ball.
