If I was Kiffin, I'd spend the rest of the season as a "freelance consultant", being hired by whatever team the Raiders are about to play to breakdown the weaknesses of every player. Not that it's needed because the Raiders are so bad, but just to screw them as much as possible.

Many sources are reporting that OL coach Tom Cable is the new man.

Here's a troubling stat I find about Kiffin:
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3617977

11 out of 20 games where he relinquished the lead is very disturbing for any fan/organization. I too like to think he's a great young offensive mind, but at what point does it become about professionalism and about self-respect? And if not for himself, at least the players?

I guess he's got youth on his side and he may very well land another gig in the NFL down the road, but man, seeing the way he's acted in this pissing contest has really raised some questions about his character.

^^^If they were leading in 11 and still won 5, then they blew 6 leads. 6/20 = 30%

That's still important and needs to be understood.

Agree with you that no-one gets out of this situation untainted.

Oh for crying out loud, how many millions of dollars has Al wasted on lousy players the last ten years, and he's going to nickel and dime his coach who makes peanuts anyway?

It's probably going to cost more in legal fees and settlement money down the road then it would just paying him now. Then again even if Al has to pay money he stiffs the coach anyway, just ask Shanahan.

Agreed that would undoubtably make him the most-hated ex-Raider in history. Chances are he would wear the title with pride and joy. God I hope the Jets can find a way to sneak him onto our staff. Can never have enough good-young minds around the game.

I was listening on foxsports.com, and they left Big Al's mic on for a while. Among the funnier things he said/asked his assistants: "Did I mention enought that he lied" and "Who's going to introduce him, I don't know much about him." Too funny.

Wow, that Al Davis presser was a beatdown. If Davis is telling the truth, then it seems to me he's absolutely justified in firing him and not paying him. It seemed to me that Kiffen was trying to get himself fired. That non-timeout thing was just awful, and he knew what he was doing when he did it. I wouldn't pay a guy for that either.

    Davis did Kiffin a favor.

He's too good a guy to work for that piece of shit.

Also, Lane Kiffin looks like a skinny Magini in his ESPN interview.

It ain't about the money, it's about big, crazy, powerful, crazy Al Davis letting everyone know that he's still the biggest, craziest, most powerful, CRAZIEST guy in the room.

The thing that made me laugh most(OK, Al Davis drooling made me laugh the most), was when he said he told Kiffin to, "Stop complaining and coach the team on the field." Uhh, Al, he is complaining because you are putting a piece of shit product on the field for him to coach. Also, you're complaining now.

He is so senile, I love it.
