At what point did anybody think that we were a better team than the Chargers????? That is a Sb Caliber team. I hate to burst bubbles but they are better than us. I would rather lose with Farve trying to make something happen. If we have noodle at Qb that game ends 60-7!
Damn... and I was just about to say I was going to agree with you... now I can only half agree with you. You had to bring the Noodle into this AGAIN. BTW, you see his game last Sunday? Granted Ronnie Brown was doing all the scoring, but the Noodle looked damn sharp all day long.
That is EXACTLY what happens on a lot of the NFL boards...and it is a huge frickin' MESS and a headache.
agreed, there was a glaring difference without Jenkins..........which certainly doesn't bode well as for depth at the position. Anyone heard any injury updates on him..........I guess that's a stupid question with Mangini being the source. i suppose we won't know the extent
Noddle looked sharp in a blowout. The problem is he can't get it done when he has to like the game they lost to us. Like the person just not as a Qb.
Once again expectations have given way to reality! This is exactly what I expected. A out of football shaped QB. A brand new offensive line finding themselves and their roles. A defense that hasn't made a statement or shown what their capable of. A very rough start Loosing to a team that knows our plays like their own and the other who got robbed and lost on the final play of the first game they played ; by the way San diego is much much better then we are! If we loose to Arizona , then I will be set for the rest of the season and will understand our fate!
Thanks for being the voice of reason here. How soon people forget. Or are unrealistic from the very start, in some cases. Here's how I responded to johnnyd in another thread when he insisted Favre must be declared a failure because we don't look like we'll win the spuerbolw this year:
What reward? Make the playoffs? We could have with Chad. It was dumb giving 13 million to a 39 year old QB.
I definitely think its all a PSL stunt. The Jets had NO buzz before he got here. Now they have a little buzz. I was out last night and the bars were packed. A Monday night game last season you would not see that many people. Its about money. "Give him time". We dont have any time. He will retire again after this season. Bank on that.
I dont buy this "Favre was ploy to sell psls crap" Not fully anyway. Maybe that was a side bonus to picking him up, but you dont think the to front office thought that he would be a huge upgrade, its Brett Favre for christ sakes. If it were only a ploy to sell psl's they would obviously know he would stink with us, resulting in not selling and psl's anyway. I am not saying it was a ploy. I am saying it was a gamble. Even at age 38-39, Favre has more upside than Pennington. He was terrific last year. But not so terrific the two years before that. It's a roll of the dice taking a quarterback that age (speaking as someone who suffered through Marino's last year, 9 TDs and 17 INTs, when he was younger than Favre is now). Selling PSLs with Favre, on the other hand, was not a gamble at all. It was an absolute lock. I think that factored into Woody Johnson and the FO's thinking. But of course I don't know.
