....Shawn Merriman wasn't hurt last night? We gave up 3 sacks and there was constant pressure WITHOUT him on the field. If he was there, it would have been about 6 sacks. We invested millions in a new look, yet still ineffective o-line. This is really depressing. Start lining up for our top 10 pick in April, Jets fans...
Huh? The o line isn't ineffective, they were rushing 5 to 7 players on almost every snap. Favre is having trouble getting a quick release on his drops and needs 10 seconds it seems to throw the ball... that seems to me to be more of the problem.
Can you imagine if Freeman McNeil and Mark Gastineau were in their primes last night? 21 points off turnovers. 10 pts off unrecovered onsides kicks. You can't win when this happens regardless of who's suited up on the other side.
Now we're talking. :up: For as much as we threw last night and they knew we had to throw in the second half, I thought the protection was good. A lot of that is Favre can get rid of the ball, but overall he had time to throw, he was 30-42.
Can you amagine if the Jets could play well on both sides of the field just once this year? Can you amagine the Jets getting off to a good start for once. I CAN'T.
the Chargers would be 3-0 and this loss wouldn't be the end of the world people are making it out to be. SD is a great team, they should be 3-0 anyway
