Bow Down.... all of you. No WR made a catch on him all game.... a talented #1 in Chambers and a emerging star in Jackson did nothing against him. If I hear anyone attack the trade up for him I'm message board bitch-slapping you.
It's obviously Revis' fault for Favre lack of success. If he would let Favre and the WR's complete some passes in the practice, the Jets would probably be 3-0. Cut this guy now! I don't know about that. The pass Gates caught, it was a perfect throw. You can't defend that. Most other receivers (in Gates' case, TE) would have jumped way too soon giving away their position to the CB and the CB would have made a play. The play where Lowery got beat deep, it was a double move with no one to help him. That means everyone was blitzing. A WR should not have enough time to make double movies in that type of blitz.
I really hope he gets the pro bowl recognition that he deserves. He's not a flashy player like Cromartie but he's just really solid.
yea, he did get toasted on that one play...but he also made a handful of good plays early in the game. He had no support over the top and playing bump on a 3rd and 1 in hopes to get the ball back, only to have it thrown up to a receiver that has 3 inches on you has its consequences. The guy is still a stud.....
Too bad the Pass Defense(If I can call it that) helped leave Lowery stranded on an island by all himself.
I like how he plays. Don't get me wrong.. They went after him instead of Revis.. Against Miami... He was great.. This week not so much.. But I think he'll be ok..
you aren't a Jets fan... fuck you and everyone like you... where the fuck is that link.... oh yea here it is: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=26570 proof that you should be set on fire.
FAIL! Dude, he's a rookie and he had a great game tonight. The pass to Gates was a textbook throw into the endzone which took a lot of discipline from Gates to make it work without giving Lowery a chance to make a play on it and getting beat deep by a WR like Chambers did to him happens to every CB in the history of football. Ty Law got beat in his prime, Champ Bailey gets beat in his prime, Asante Samuel - with the Pats pass rush in front of him - still got beat in his prime...etc. Everybody, one time or another, gets beat. One bad play does not a failure make. He had some excellent break-ups early in the game and he did a decent job, at worst, of staying with his WRs for the rest of it. The kid is good.
Sorry to disagree, but the game I witnessed (especially in the beginning, when it mattered?) saw some HUGE plays from this guy.
So if anyone makes a double move, he becomes wide open and can make a 5364 yard TD? I wonder when our WRs will learn to do a double move and then Favre can start hitting them 700 yards deep with his left hand. Very good reasoning... Lowery is a rookie and he was bound to make mistakes. Gates is an all pro TE/WR. He should have had Rhodes on him to prevent long passes. It was a man on man coverage with a 7 or 8 man blitz. Lowery could'nt handle him. Period. It was Lowery's fault who could'nt stay put with a TE. TEs are not as fast as CBs. Lowerys a rookie and Im not surprised he was burnt a few times.
That's mostly what I was trying to say. The "FAIL!" comment was just to refute the other guy's post. I guess I'll look over the post and reword it if it's too confusing.
He had one tackle in the whole game. That means either the Chargers avoided him, or he was burnt and never made the ground to tackle. He was avoided by the SDCs. Played great against Chambers. BTW, Chambers is overrated IMO.
I think Revis did a brilliant job yesterday. I think Lowery did an excellent job as well. That touchdown pass to Gates and that 70 yarder to Jackson? Those were perfect throws. It stings to say that, because I hate Philip Rivers, but perfect throws. I'm not sure who's assignment Chambers was on the touchdown pass, so I'm faulting Kerry. He's got the headset, he's the leader and frankly, it seems likely that he should have been able to cover Chambers in that situation. Was Kerry Rhodes on the field yesterday?
