i did one of these last weeks and i thought it went well. Make your predictions!! Mine: Keller will have his first big game (5 catches, 45 yards 1 TD) Favre will have 2 TDs, 1 int The kicking game will kill us! Favre throws down field three times (35+ yards), 2 completed. Our offense shows up, but the defense doesn't (or SDs offense shows up) We will not be saying "Same old Jets" after this game Jets Fans will get back to being EXCiTED about the season!!!
the jets will run an effective defense all game. mixing up coverages, blitzing and confusing rivers overall. with a lead going into the fourth quarter they will play prevent allowing rivers to go over his total yards for the game up to that point in 2 drives.
I'm calling "Flea Flicker 68 yd TD to Cotchery". Saw alot of trick plays this week and after the horrible play calling last week I can see Shotty jumping on the bandwagon.
I'm going to call that between the Jets and Chargers we see some of the worst combined play calling in NFL history. This will lead to the defensive backs on both sides of the ball having huge games. I expect a lot of turnovers and hold your breath moments. Not predicting a winner or a score - that's just bad luck.
The jets will run a decent amount of trick plays to Brad Smith. Favre will throw at least 3tds, coles will get over 100 rec yards. And to top it all off Clemens will come in to be the kicker for the jets and will hit the game winning 44 yard field goal to give the jets the win.
Gholston gets his first sack. Favre has a big game. At least 2 TDs. Leon has a big game. Keller makes a few plays. I like the 1 TD, 45 yard prediction so I'll go with it. Special teams steps up, but still fucks up a little. Pace gets 2 sacks. Revis and/or Rhodes record their first INT. Darren Sproles has a big run. Vincent Jackson gives us a problem. My nominee for Jets fans guy to get mad at this week: Alan Faneca. Olshansky is really strong, and he'll probably be Faneca's job.
I did Ok last week, a few points off is all so I will give it a go. Jets open up the pass and jets win 28-27. 3 TDs and a pick for Favre and 300 yds passing. Chargers can't run the ball and Rivers goes to the air and is 23 for 45
Heres mine... Favre throws for 275 yards, 3TDs ( 2 to Keller, 1 to Leon) Favre will be sacked 3 times Jones runs for 75 yards on 15 carries Coles continues to struggle and has 2 catches < 25 yards Stuckey has 6+ receptions Gholston has 3 tackles, 1 for a loss Pace, Ellis, Rhodes, Revis tack on 1 sack Lowery gets his first INT of his career Revis gets burned once by Chambers for a TD Gates will give the Jets defense fits Rivers will throw 2 TDs, 2 INTs LT will have < 50 All Purpose yards Sproles will have > 50 Yards Our Punter will be Prather, he will average 42+ yards per punt. Shawn Merriman will look very annoyed on the sideline.
It will look a lot like last week in terms of some special teams problems, but we'll force a couple of turnovers that will be the defining part of our win. Favre will have a very good game, with Laveranues Coles being the primary target (I hope. I need him in fantasy).
Playcalling continues to be dull and hackett-esque Defense shows up and plays hard Same ol' Jets on Tuesday morning
I'm going to be optimistic and say only 2 shanked punts this week. I agree about keller, hopefully 5 catches and a TD. Coles gets into the game a little more (75 yards worth) but is still pissy after the game. Stuckey is still the man and gets another TD. By halftime there will be at least 3 Schotty must go threads started. The Jets will have a chance to give themselves a nice 10 point cushion in the fourth quarter but miss the makeable field goal. (second field goal miss of the day) This will cause us sweat off 2lbs while we bite our fingernails until they bleed but the Jets end up squeaking it out with a similar finish as the Miami game.
Rivers throws for 338 yards. 4 td's Gates 87 yards receiving 1 td Vincent Jackson 138 yards receiving 2 td's.
