Pretty neat site. I'm sure you know the Bengals & Dolphins were expansion teams & not part of the original teams that started in 1960

My 1st AFL home game was 65 & for I cannot remember who the other side was in that game. Naturally the most memorable AFL game I ever went to was the PO game vs Oak @ Shea in Dec 1968.

Thanks I have a record already of sound bites of all the 68 games including the SB & PO game with Merle voice on it. It also includes the parade up Broadway & speech at City Hall

    dude...you are old.

My earliest memory of the Jets was the 1969 Super Bowl. I foolishly bet against the Jets just to tweak my dad.

I'll never forget Curt Gowdy and Al Derogatis.

Gowdy, along with Lindsey Nelson were my favorite announcers at that time. Al Michaels and Jon Miller are my favorites now,

i was at the opening nite game at shea in 1964-----season ticket holder from the start

dick wood was jets qb as we beat denver

we were all amazed to see the place filled up as the first 4 seasons were played before a near empty polo grounds

jets had a lb wahoo mcdaniel ---part indian

he made so many tackles that nite , the announcer would say "tackle by who???"
and we would all respond "WAHOO"
