Yea, Kiffin's not bitchmade as a coach and this is probably the best news he's received in a while.

So, does the win over KC change Kiffin's status?

Would be funny if they fired him the day after a win.

The Raiders are an undisciplined, untalented mess. Number one draft pick (and umpteen million dollar guaranteed contract) JaMarcus Russell passed for all of 55 yards today. Which isn't that surprising since his receivers are horrible. The teams top RB Justin Fargas just went down with an injury. Their only talent, McFadden, will be beaten up and worn out by season's end. All of their high-priced defensive mercenaries look like they couldn't care less. It's just an unmitigated disaster.

Kiffin will be lucky to leave this cesspool. And you gotta love the guaranteed contract for coaches. He will walk away with millions in his pocket.

They spent their entire load signing their rookies and couldn't afford NEEDS like Stallworth.

    GG Davis.

According to Peter King, it at least postpones it. kiffin has wanted to be fired from this gig for awhile. Al davis is a cheap bastard and wanted him to quit so he wouldn't owe him the rest of the money on the contract.

Will someone wave a bran muffin under Al's nose and get him out of bed already! I'm on pins and needles here! This firing should have been done by now.

I doubt Al can even do this right!
he is going to allow this feud between his head coach and himself to overshadow his team all season long. Give Jerry Jones credit, say what you want to about him, but he knows how to run a franchise. Just take that HBO series hard knocks, Jones knows that gets the cowboys and himself into millions more homes that usually don't get to see them. I'm sure if HBO would do it, Jones would sign up long term for that show.

An article I read on another board said that assistant coach, James Lofton, was likely to be the new HC.

he's an offensive minded guy, but I think he could be a better DC than Sutton.

So what happened...one win and ol' diaper-pants can't make up his mind? Some really good coaches tied up in that asylum.

Good god I thought he was still in Tampa

Either Al's crazy or he just wants his name in the paper or both. He's the old man who cried wolf now, twice with Kiffin.

We can only pray that Kiffin is fired and Hackett promoted to HC. There was a day when I thought that this scenario was far-fetched, but with Al Davis in advanced-stage dementia, and after Shell, I think this is a very real possibility.

Comeon HOw many Raider coaches do you want. Rob Ryan for your DC? Lane Kiffin to be your OC/head coach. Bill Callahan was going to do wonders for your Oline. LIsten coaches can only do so much. They can't make chicked salad out ofr chicken s-it. Maybe if you had a real General manager(that didn't miss on so many first rounders) maybe your coaches could do something with some talent.

Joe, the funny thing is this was a line used by Mike Ditka about the raiders during that MNF game. How original..

NO I used this line alot on this board before that Monday night game. To be correct this line is really a Gary Stevens- Old Dolphins OC line. Afetr the Dolphins fired him as their OC. That was Good line than and it is a good line to plagerize.

So Mike Ditka was basically stealing Gary Stevens line. Might not have been orginal but still is pretty funny.
