And how many yards a game has New Orleans given up?

    Exactly.

How many tackles does John Abraham? Right...

harris is STOUT...the reason you don't see him missing or making tackles, is because he is a silent assassin. He is there to clean up the trash, barking signals....and Jenkins is taking his meals....Don't worry about Harris...the guy is a stud.

tackles is such a overrated stat.. yeah vilma has a ton of tackles, but the Saints are near the bottom in rush defense and making tackles 8 yards from the line of scrimmage isnt impressive.

Everyone just has to relax and realize the talent around Harris is much better this year. MUCH better. Harris isn't going to make every tackle like he did last year

Exactly, it makes a difference when Kris Jenkins is blowing plays up in the backfield and Pace is always around the ball-carrier.

If Harris is making all the tackles and Pace isn't, then we'd get threads on "Pace is nowhere to be found!"

    Awful.

i think the d lines improved play is letting other LB'ers make more tackles. which would obviously make him less noticeable. plus i also think teams are focusing on him more.

hes still putting up solid numbers and making his presence felt.

Sooooo why does it discourage you that Vilma is leading the league in tackles?

If you're in some major fantasy football league where you draft defensive players and passed on Vilma, then yeah I'd be "discouraged" as well.

But their defense is awful and they're getting run on pretty handily.

And the Abraham comment...If the Jets keep his frail frame and put him in a system where he didn't do to well, then their would be no Nick Mangold, who plays through injuries and is damn durable so far...

    What would you rather have?

When DH was the ONLY one on the D besides Rhodes and Revis making any plays last year his tackles were GOING TO be up, but since we acquired the players to fit the scheme and they have actually showed up to play, DH's plays are going to be down, but he's been solid, he's all over the place and near every play.

    I have no complaints

Great post to give us an example of why viewing things by stats alone means nothing what so ever. Good Job!
