People thought Lamont was done, but he looks like all he needed was a change of scenery. Belicheck does it again. What is it w/the JETS making Kevin Faulk look like he should have a bust in Canton, OH? Every time we play these guys, I see the JETS leaving Faulk wide open --- where the hell is the DC Sutton????? --- doesnt he know that Cassel will most likely run home to Mama & take the easy pass out of the backfield to Faulk????
Id like to say lack of desire... the offense looked winded and bored.... Look at the philly game right now... I wish I was a philly fan
1. The quarter back doesn't trust his line yet! 2. The defense doesn't scare anyone yet! 3. The run game hasn't taken off yet! 4. until you fix these , we wont get no respect yet!
Belichick does what again? Lamont was always a good change of pace back, coming in late against worn down D's and using his physical style to his advantage. it's not a shock he did well and in that role he should continue to do well, that wasn't his role in oakland. he was brought in as a feature back and he's not a feature back.
I agree with you completey on the first two points. I think that Special teams were the biggest difference in the game. Our punt coverage was atrocious. They started in our territory 4 times for fuck's sake. However, I must say that I think the play-calling has been made into far too big of an issue on this board. Admittedly, the three straight runs into the line from the 3 yard line were terrible and a at least one play-action pass there was in order. Other than that, I just thought both defenses played really well and that the Jets were sloppy with their execution. They dropped a few passes and had a few awful penalties at very inopportune times. They also got robbed on two HUGE calls in the game: The offensive pass interference on Cotchery when he caught the Bomb From Brett and the roughing the passer penalty on Pace that put the Pats in field goal range and essentially sealed the game for them. Both calls were baseless.
Another reason for the loss is the Jets have Brett Favre but are still calling plays for Chad Pennington.
Our offense was terrible but shit we started each possession in shit poor position and add not being able to do anything on offense on top of that and we were pretty dead the whole game. Our D was suprisingly good but like always couldnt get a stop when we need it on 3rd and long/medium in the 4th quarter.
Takes a player off the scrapheap & finds an effective role for him to play. Basically, we are saying the same thing.
Ha if you think our OLine was manhandled by the Pats wait to Bills get a hold of Sunday's tape. If the Bills DLine stays healthy until we play them Brick maybe carried off the field in a coffin as he will be totally collapsed by the Bills DLine
Jordan wasn't on the scrapheap. Everyone knows he's a good player in that type of role. he wanted to go to a winner so he chose NE, unfortunately for him Brady went down and so did their SB dreams.
They have a lot more talent than the Jets on both sides of the ball as well. Had something to do with the outcome.
I try not to show agreement with things said to me in foreign tongues. "I'll have a shoe with cheese on it, force it down my throat, and I want to massage your grandmother, okay. . . . ?"
The funny thing is that Pats fans are complaining that Hanson is booting touchbacks when he should be pinning opponents inside their 20. Of course, shanking punts is definetely worse! On the 3 straigth runs at the goalline, it seemed like Mangini was trying to set the tone of the game by ramming it down the Pats throats. I think he could have used Favre and scored with some finesse stuff, but he didn't want that. He wanted a statement play. It just didn't work out that way. If it had worked, everyone would have hailed the play choice and who knows what it would have done to the momentum of the game.
No need to get sassy there, Doomster I am merely pointing out facts. DO'N is 6-1/2 and would have intercepted that ball. It was actually a good play by Jerrico. Also, field position sucked for the Jets. However, you guys seem to be missing the fact that every kickoff was a touchback. Can't blame the Jet's ST on that. Also, Hanson sucked on his punts so you were fortunate NOT to have worse field position.
3 times the Jets had 12 men on the field. I'd blame coaching on that. Unless you want to blame the refs because they can count to 12. The Jets made stupid mistakes. Good teams show mental disclipline in close games. They didn't... so they lost.
