My reality check: Jets need a real kicker and a real punter fast.

    Indeed.

Too whomever thinks that this is only a 4 win team...why even call yourself a jets fan? Good Defense and Brett Favre improvising will get us more then 4. That's nonsense.

I am looking forward to seeing how we respond this week. It sucks to lose to the Patriots w/o Brady but we're 1-1...not exactly dire straits there.

I wouldn't mind a new punter THIS WEEK. That punting (rather that field position) was the difference maker.

    Yeah, that is a joke.

There is no dominance on this team what so ever. Look at how the Bills is playing, great on both sides of the ball.

Do you really think we are going to go to the Chargers next week and win??

After that loss, Brett will be gone after 1 year.

After 1 loss its a lock that Brett is a goner?? Can't agree with you there...and its silly to jump to that after 2 weeks.

And listen to what you're asking. You expected us to dominate a Tom Brady-less Patriots. When did he become the only guy on the team to get a ring? When did there front 7 change from an elite unit to an average one?

    We just barely beat Miami....
Miami just got destroyed against Arizona, yes, we should have had the chance to win yesterday if the playcalling was better and the BS calls against the refs didn't go against us.
I am just saying if they don't let Brett do what he does best on some of these calls and we don't have a good year, do you really think he will be back for another?

Well it's funny you should say that because Jet fans have been tellin us Pats fans we will never win another game without Tom Brady all week long. The reality is, as I said a week ago when Brady went down, all it did was even the playing field in the division. Is there any doubt that with Brady on the field yesterday the Jets get beat by 3 TD's? Now, with the exception of maybe Miami, it's 3 team battle to the end, whoever gets to 10 or 11 wins, gets the division, any thing less is a long shot for the wild card.

    A reasonable fear.

And for those who are saying "big deal we lost to a great team" it was a team that played not only without Brady but Maroney went out after the first running play of the second quarter. The Jets played with all their starters except the PK, of course.

    I am quite concerned.

Fair enough. Brett says all the right things but who knows what he's thinking as of this point.

But keep in mind though our playcalling keeps games relatively close. Whether we are losing or winning . . .it really doesn't matter really. Plus I don't expect Kurt Warner to go crazy vs. our Secondary. Defensively I think we can keep them in check and keep things close....now who wins remains to be seen.

Don't presume that we aren't running deep routes that Brett can throw too. We did and he tried to connect on some of them. I think the Patriots pretty much had a good day defensively in terms of there pass rush and pass d. Ellis Hobbs had a good day defending the deep ball...now why we didn't try coles more....hmm :(

Normally I could take this at face value but you are a Pats fans and a Jets website. You knew coming here that most of us aren't reasonable to begin with. If you are really looking for people to agree with you...you're in the wrong forum.

Funny thing about rival team posters is that they always show up when times are good and disappear when times are rough. B/c of this standard I usually ignore pretty much everything posters like you say but in this instance I'll make an exception. Well, you and Raiderjoe b/c he's just too much fun.

Very, very true. How in the world we are stuck in this situation is killing me.

    1) Too many penalties. WAY too many. 12 men on the field is a joke. Face masks are way too costly.
    2) Coles dropped two VERY catchable passes.
    3) 3 points left on the table as a result of missed field goal.
    4) Chansi Stuckey had the chance to get out of bounds with 4 1/2 minutes remaining and didn't.
    5) HORRIBLE punting resulting in deplorable field position.
    6) 7 points left on the table as a result of mediocre blocking by the O-line... lousy execution in general. No excuse for not getting 7 points on 1-yard line with 3 downs.
    7) A couple of VERY questionable calls.
    8) Play-calling too conservative, especially when behind. We left 10 points on the table despite a very sloppy performance.
    9) Defensive letdown after our TD brought us to 10-16, although, in fairness, the decision by Belichick to run a fresh Lamont Jordan down our throats late in the game that way to eat the clock... brilliant.
