Did anyone catch the post game? Especially For those who turned Coles' comments into the "ME 1st" nonsense, this is how to read between the lines: On how his team played he said that (paraphrasing) they beat a JETS team who was riding high off a big win vs Miami. ( this is a dis vs Miami also) Then he continues and makes sure that he said he beat us in "Giants Stadium". All the while he was very perky for belly .. I couldn't help but to laugh at his smugness. It was actually pretty funny. If anyone gets a link or sees the post game, help us out here..
That piece of sh*t has destroyed our franchise at will and it sickens me. What started his beef with our club anyway....
Well, the Jets were grooming to give him his long awaited 2nd coaching chance, so he really should've been grateful, except, the grating presence of Parcells hanging over him made the job undesirable. When the snake, Kraft, came slithering down with an offer to escape Tuna's shadow, Belichick decided to betray Leon Hess, who paid him a cool million just to agree to sit tight for a year and take over the job after Parcells stepped down. But what really set Belichick off was the way the Jets, particularly former club President, Steve Gutman, ridiculed BB and his cryptic, incoherent retirement speech. The new york media chimed in and BB was furious, and determined to pay back the insults. The "betrayal" (fucking short memory) by Mangini sealed the deal and BB lives to stick it up our asses every chance he gets.
i was so happy when Beli was named coach......i was so sick when he took off and we got groh we've had 2 nice seasons since then, but mostly it has been BB shitting all over us
Honestly it started when the Patriots went to the superbowl, and the Jets snagged MArtin and Parcells right after, I remember there was some talk that Parcells had already accepted the Jets job despite the fact that he was not allowed to talk with them until after the superbowl. But the terms of Parcell's deal was such that he could not be the coach of another NFL team, so the Jets hired Bellichik as thehead coach and named Parcell's a "special advisor" with all the normal responsibilities of a head coach. The Patriots threatened to sue, and Tagliabue settled it by making the patriots let Parcells coach in return for a 1st round pick
It's funny how Jet fans only remember what they want to. The Jets gave up three draft picks to get Parcells mostly because the Pats had phone records from Parcells hotel to the Jets offices during the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. THe Jets tampered with the Pats Head Coach and started the whole thing. Then, had the Jets not gone back on their word and given B.B. personel control instead of moving Parcells to the Front office, he would very likely still be the Jets Head Coach today.
I didn't hear it, but since they beat us for the 8th time in a row at Giants Stadium I guess he can say what he wants. By the time I got to my car Greg Buttle was replaying his wrong prediction from the pre-game.
Jake, Your avatar is an ode to THE man responsible for driving your nemesis from the swamps in the first place. Parcells started it, by turning tail during SB 32 week in the Big Easy and leveraging his way out of NE and to NY. BB knew he would never thrive under BP and resigned in his famous "I resign as HC of the NYJ" speech. If only the Tuna had been canned first, it would've all been yours... Brady, the Super Bowls, the "mystique", everything. You'll say you wouldn't trade it, but you would. Deep down, you know I'm right. Flame on...
That's what it comes down to, they can deny it all they like, call Brady a homo, and B.B. a scumbag, in the end they kill to have half of what Patriots fans have had.
You're jumbling a few things together in your magic 8-ball there. I don't know that Parcells' actions in early 1997 had anything to do with what transpired three years later. You're forgetting the three year period when you had Pete Carroll in NE and Bellichick did come here for three years when anyone else could have hired him to be a head coach, including New England. Parcells had nothing to do with us knocking out Bledsoe and allowing Brady to get his chance. Sometimes things just work out ironically, but it's not like the first event triggered all the others.
he can say he beat the jets in giants stadium all he wants. he's probably still crying himself to sleep at night after getting dominated by that giants defense.
What did 1997 have to do with 2000? In a word EVERYTHING. Parcells didn't want to coach anymore in 2000 but wanted (now as he did then) to control the reins of an NFL franchise. Knowing BP as he does, BB knew he could never get anything but blame for anything the Jets did while he was the "HC", good or bad. It was the classic "No Win" situation. Kraft couldn't hire BB on the heels of BP. He had to go in a different direction, splitting coaching and GM duties (and ultimately allegiances) between Pete Carroll and the disastrous Bobby Grier. BBs former players, Lawyer Milloy, most notably, lobbied for his hiring when the Carroll regime failed. He chose Brady in his first draft and was looking for an excuse to bench Drew Bledsoe in '01 when Mo Lewis intervened on behalf of Patriot fans everywhere. BTW, Mo is a far bigger hero to Patriot Nation than he EVER will be to Jets fans. It's not a "Magic 8 Ball", it's a simple, connected string of events. There must be some Jet fans that can follow it. Things don't "just work out", they happen for a reason. As a Jet fan, you have to live in denial. How else can you stand your team? Oh wait, most of you can't. There is hope after all.
Ok, granted, he HATES the Jets. Having stated the obvious, you are reading WAY too much into his post game comments. He doesn't even take the media seriously. He just answers as quickly and as generically as possible. His goal is to make the press conference as short and painless as possible. Your point about him saying Giants stadium is actually comical. Dude, that's the fucking name of the stadium.
There's one major flaw in your recount--Parcells stepped down completely and handed the whole thing over to Bellichick. He only decided to stay and run the operation when Bellichick quit the next day and the Jets asked him to. Wasn't Lawyer Milloy one of the first guys Bellichick got rid of the next year? And how does the Mo Lewis thing fit in? That is sheer coincidence, not connected to anything. Parcells was gone completely, the Terry Bradway/Herm Edwards regime was in place by the 2001 season when that happened. Not that that even matters, because it was an on-field play, as opposed to front office dealings. But you can't even use "karma" or any other nonsense explanation because we had all new people in charge by then.
You don't know what your talking about, that's not how it happend at all. Parcells went straight to the Front office, and it was him that told Kraft they couldn't speak with B.B. because he was promoted to H.C. It was a Parcells F.U. to Kraft and in doing so he pissed B.B. off.
What are you talking about? After the 1999 season Parcells stepped down completely. Leon Hess had died, he was the one who promised Bellichick the Jets job when Parcells eventually quit, but he was dead by then. So Kraft offered Bellichick the NE job, which was his right but has nothing to do with Parcells coming here in 1997 and taking Bellichick with him. Why didn't Kraft just hire Bellichick in 1997 if he was so smart? If you remember, the way we got Parcells was by hiring Bellichick as head coach first and Parcells as a "consultant". Kraft was then backed into a corner, he had wanted our #1 overall pick in the 97 draft and didn't get it. Bellichick then came here for three years, in which time he rebuilt his reputation after what happened in Cleveland. Remember, he was only in NE one year before that and not as a DC, just an assistant head coach.
It's a shame he didn't get stuck with an AIDS infested syringe...a darn shame Hey, it doesn't bother me as much anymore. We're only in Giants Toilet Bowel for a little less than 2 years. Barring some freak occurrence where we host a playoff game against him, he'll only play here one more time. oh. and can we ban these trolls already?
Your mixing up two diffren't events. The Jets had to give the Patriots three draft picks including their #1 to get Parcells. Then when Parcells stepped down from the Jets, he B.B. was to take the job. However, Parcells staying in the front office was not suposed to happen and that's why B.B. wanted out.
