Dave Hutchinsons article in the Ledger today talks about Coles, his fit with Favre, and why he still pines for Chad. It isn't up on NJOnline yet, but Coles says... "It's been different for me. I've always been on the same page as Chad. I kind of knew when I was getting the ball, kind of an idea of when the ball was comming." Now I have no idea, and that's kind of a disadvantage for me." "I've had to relearn all over again, and adjust. It's about Brett and him doing what it is he does. If I fit in the plans, then I fit in. If not, I'm not really stressing." He went on to say, after Hutch referenced the slant that they didn't hook up on... "I've been in the offense, but I'm trying to adjust to exactly what they want. Brett wants to run things one way, then I look in the playbook and it says something different. Talking with coach (Mangini) he says whatever Brett feels like he wants to do, just do it. After Coles talked about the emergence of the run game opens up the offense as much as Favres big arm...Suggesting that if Chad was here, he would have had as much success. "We have a running game this year, which would help any quaterback...Not just one with an arm like Bretts". ------------------------------------- Is it me, or does Coles sound like he has sour grapes and is being a whiney little bitch over Chads departure, as well as Bretts favorite target not named Coles, but Cotch. There really wasn't much of a reason for Coles to make these kinds of remarks, especially after he gave his "out of respect for Chad, I didn't say anything" explanaition of why he snubbed the media for a Favres first few weeks in NY...Unless Coles wants to reunite with Chad in Miami because Coles lost his wubby...
yea im getting tired of all the whinning coming from his way -- wont be rocking his jersey this week! Going with the #20 TJ !!
All I can say is, he is a pro, and should be able to adjust. For some reason, I don't think he comes back next year.
Our resident whiny little bitch strikes again. I am usually one of the first to defend his off-field nonsense, but if this shit carries over to the games, he is on my shitlist. Those comments were completely inappropriate and uncalled-for. It's no wonder he is no longer a team captain. ...and the "I need Chad" angle is bullshit in light of Coles running for the $nyder when he had the chance.
Yeah, I read that too in the Star Ledger this morning and said to myself, "Here we go again." Just STFU Coles, and make plays.
He's a concussion away from nevr playing again. I'm damned glad we've got fresh blood we're grooming at WR.
As long as he continues to produce on the field I couldn't care less about what he says (or doesn't say) to the media.
Coles is one of the most overrated WRs in the league. What a little bitch. What kind of a receiver complains about having Brett Favre as their QB over Chad Pennington. I honestly wouldn't mind if they traded him. There are plenty of other weapons on the offense, he wouldn't be missed for a second.
He had several drops in the Miami game do you call that good production. One would have meant another TD in fact
seriously i think this is being blown out of proportion again.... He's saying there is an adjustment period from QB to QB. Shocker, everybody plays a little different, and Favre is way out there, because he draws up plays in the sand, instead of following the playbook to the letter, so that causes an even bigger adjustment. Which of course Coles has had no time to prepare for, because as we know he has been out of practice with an injury and only had 2 days to get on the same page as Favre before week 1. And his last statement is a no brainer. Obviously that is why we built the OL first, we didnt know we could have favre and we built it so we could have a power running game and help out whichever player was our QB, be it Chad or Clemens, when Favre fell into our lap, and we were built to be a power running squad, it was allready a bonus. Every QB can be aided by a good run game. No where in his statements is the word Chad or Pennington mentioned. you guys just take everything he says to the media to be incessant bitching. Yeah he is a pro, and by the bye week will be on the same page as Favre and things will be back to normal in Jetland and Coles will be playing his ass off just like he always does....
The one in the end zone was low and away - would have been a very difficult catch. I wouldn't call it a "drop" at all as I don't think it even hit his hands? The other "drop" he was being interfered with but it wasn't called. I'm not talking about the one that was called either.
Unfortunately, so did every other defense which is why we weren't able to win many games down the stretch or when the game was on the line. All this means is, pay attention Coles. You never know when you might be getting a 50-yard bomb coming your way.
