The ironic thing is without our Lombardi trophy these dicks wouldn't have any. It's been pretty well talked about that if the AFL got crushed in SB III it's very possible there never would have been a merger.
I bet if the Jets go 10-6 this year win the division and get knocked out in the first round, they're still gonna stick Division champ pennant up in the new stadium next year. I suppose that's different.
well, you're the only team to win every regular season game and not have a trophy to show for it. The other guys who did it have a SB to show for it. Way to fail when it counts. The SB champs lost 6 more games in the regular season that the Pats, and yet they won it all... its about getting into the playoffs, nothing else. Once you're in the playoffs, then going undefeated counts.
its the same with the Pats putting up last years division champs banner. You didn't win the Super Bowl but you won the division. Thats fine for every team. The Cowboys will do it as will the Colts.
thats why its so historic... with the Jets defying insurmountable odds to win with the famous guarantee on top of that to merge the two leagues. Whats sad is that most non-Jets fans think thats us saying that, but ask any NFL historian, SB III was so amazingly important to the league. Kudos to the Colts as well in SB V, that was important too, proving that all AFL teams could run with the NFL.
Dood...New Jersey (home of the Jets) is where all the douche bags are! http://www.ebaumsworld.com/pictures/view/424201/
