Easley with a 2 run double to drive in Tatis and Delgado! Big inning here off Lannan.

why the hell did they bring in figueroa if they were going to pinch hit for him in the bottom of the inning? if you just wanted to get 2 outs might as well have brought in a pitcher that didn't suck.

Chances are that the Phillies lose, so worst we can do is stay 1.5 up.

    phillies will win

10-5 with 2 on and no outs in the 6th

mets continue the parade of terrible "long relievers" that pitch 1 inning and give up runs, and the parade of awful pinch hitters.

I'm not sure if people have noticed, but Delgado has been playing pretty well since the end of June.

it's interesting to hear how cohen's calls differ when he's all riled up. that ball was pretty well hit and he barely reacted at all, but after the carloses went back to back easley hit a pop up to left field and he called it like it was going out for the first few seconds.

Mr. Stokes has been a very pleasant surprise so far.

Besides my general distaste for self-selection polls, I particularly hate the one for this game, since it presupposes that the Mets have a closer, which they don't, and I wish they would just accept it.

What were the results? I missed it but I presume Ayala got most of the votes.

Yes! Big win, especially since they overcame the bad start by Perez.

    Yeah, he got about 65%.

I do have to acknowledge that he's pitching well for them. At least Feliciano was warming - I'm more okay with him as the closer if there is the explicit understanding is that he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt.
