I'm happy. I guess i was just shocked that we Let Chad dink and dunk us at the end guarding against the long ball. Especially a long ball from Chad. Weather is a factor and i didn't take the heat into consideration.
I expected us to maul Chad all day even though i posted all week about how i feared he would show up to play.

I'm not happy that I had to pull out some hair in a game that should have been in the bag. Overall though it was a pretty good showing and we got the W. I do think the heat was a major factor down the stretch and might have impacted the play calling.

I think the title of the thread is over reaction at it's finest but the worry of the OP is valid. I'm gonna chalk it up to heat and exhaustion and hope the prevent d doesn't show up again this season. Bottomline is we are 1-0 and suddenly the division is wide open.

But come on man...You gotta admit, watching players like Pace, Ellis and Thomas sack the QB was pretty exciting today! Even Gholston was putting some pressure on Chad. And what about Lowery and Revis? They played lights out!

And what about our run D? You gotta admit typeOne...It was a great feeling to see Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown get shut down today! Less than 60 yards for the Dolphins run game I believe! That was sexy!

Packers played a lot of close games last year, on their way to 13-3 season.

Bottom line the defense gave up 14 points, that ain't bad. At the end, someone MADE A PLAY. That's what winners do.

The offense will get better, Favre will get more comfortable, and I see good things happening! :jets:

All true. There were a lot of positives today. I really like Lowery. Run D was great. Favre to Cotchery is gonna be fun to watch this year.

I agree...I think Favre to Coles and Cotchery can be just as elite if not better than Favre to Driver and Jennings

That's exactly what it was. And in the red zone the D played great. This is a retarded thread

And the most encouraging part is that we didn't "get lucky" at all.

It wasn't a bend-but-don't break D. They had 3 good drives. 2 scored TDs, and one ended the game, with an INT.

We gave up 14 points, and we played to that level.

It looked like we were getting decent pressure, Chad just did a great job finding the open guy who was usually the TE or the RB out of th backfield. We all know ehn healthy Chad is a good QB, he was excellent in the 2nd half. Our O should have put the game away by that point but at least the D made the last play.

Our defense was exhausted by the end of the game. We were lucky. I would imagine the Miami heat/humidity had something to do with it. I thought they were dominant thru the first 3 quarters.

WE WON! Pennington embarassed himself at the end. he threw a floater and made it easy to catch for REVIS. We altered our game plans due to an injury to our kicker. Rather then complaining about the Jets, try saying something positive. The rushing game was stopped fir them! We had 4 or 5 sacks and yet you complain. I think that you are a CHADANISTA and should support the DOLPHINS! Pennington did what he usually does. He got nice statistics by dinking and dunking a team in a prevent defense due to personnel shortages( the kicking situation) Yet in the end CHAD picked to wrong receiver and threw an INT. Yet you say he EMBARASSED us! Sorry but I will agree to disagree with your convoluted reasoning!

Quote: "...Did you even PAY ATTENTION to the game? lol...Pennington was getting sacked, the Dolphins run game was getting shut down and Pennington was under pressure all game!..."

Quote: "...That was a prevent-D. Drop Back, cover the Sideline, cover Deep let him complete some in the middle of the field and make the Tackle. When they got into the Redzone they put on the pressure again. And forced him to sling one, which he never was able to do...."

This was the first game. We won. Bryan Thomas -- a guy lots of idiots on this "Message Board" have been frying for breakfast -- had two sacks.

Pace and Ellis also at a sack apiece.

I think these posts are right. For a first game, I'm pretty damned happy with the defense. Loved the fact that Ronnie and Rickie couldn't break 90 yds between them!!!

When theres a thread with multiple pages it would probably help to browse to make sure the original poster hasn't already said that the original post was an overreaction after the 1st game. But thank you for your input.

And the point being that playing a prevent D at the end and LETTING Chad do what he does best was stupid and nearly cost us the game. Giving any NFL QB multiple shots at the endzone from the redzone is damn stupid. If they pull a stunt like this vs a better team we'll lose. If i'm wrong about that then argue it.

I suppose only you can voice an opinion. Who put you in charge? We had many pressures: stopped the run; sacked GOLDEN BOY 5 times and yet you complain. Overreact or blind to reality?

Pennington is the king when it comes to coming up JUST short on 4th Q comebacks...

It's nice to finally be on the other side of that kind of situation
