That's not really fair. Unless we blow people out every game there will be legit things to be concerned about and a NYJ message board is a pretty reasonable place for it.

No...it's really not...but it will be painted like one for all of us to shit our pants over anyway...

We're not going to dominate every game...Miami is not some mentally retarded team we should have crushed and then devoured for lunch...they are not run by idiots either...

Well said, man. Favre has exactly two completions to Coles going into this game...not that many more to Cotchery. He spread the ball around despite the possible fully-integrated lack of "chemistry."

People expected a dominating, hands-down win ove the Fins. Not so fast. No win is easy and this was no exception.

Didn't anyone expect Pennington to pull out all the stops on this one? A chance to beat the team that cut him? Come on... he was out to show the world we shouldn't have. This was a good win, period.

And the non-whiners have the right to point out how ridiculous the whiners are! It goes both ways buddy.

Without a kicker the Jets ended up spotting the Dolphins 4 points. In an NFL away game, that's a lot ! But we still came through with the W.

Still if anyone here thinks we can play that sloppy & soft (in the 4th) against other teams and still win, they're crazy. The Jets do have to make some serious improvements this season - starting with the kicking game.

But that being said, there were many things to be pleased about:

    1) improved running game
    2) improved run defense
    3) sacks
    4) win agains a QB who knows the team better than anyone else in the NFL

We ran the ball well and stopped the run against a team built to run. Can't complain.

This a NYJ message board. People come here to talk about the game good or bad. Disagreeing is fine. telling Tommygreen to STFU because you disagree isn't. I made a stupid thread complaining right after the game and said somethings to TBJF that i shouldn't have. It's that crap that defeats the purpose of having the board in the first place. It's the 1st game. Everyone is gonna be uptight especially with such a close W

To be honest, if Favre wasnt handcuffed in the 4th quarter, i doubt you would see any complaints on this board at all. The defense was fine, the Oline was fine (penalties happen sometimes), the QB play was fine, and the RB was fine. The only concerns are mainly with the coaching staff and the kicker. Fans will be fans and fans will complain if they dont feel their team is playing to its potential. This board wouldnt be the same with everyone wearing the green colored glasses and asking like they just won the SB would it?

Had our first game been against the Bills at Buffalo, I would be in your camp.

This game proved that we have many question marks, and both the playcalling and performance by our players were suspect.

We were lucky to get a W here. And that's nothing to be happy about really.

Couldn't agree more. Playing the dolphins is always difficult, especially on the road. When was the last time we won in miami in september? 1994 or something? I call it a good win.

    Bring on the pats.

Dolphins is a very young team, and generally we were expected to beat them quite comfortably. Instead we saw dolphins being in the game until the very end. The pass rush was weak, ST's were weak, and some of our recievers dropped one too many passes. I'm happy with the W, but I think it's fair to expect more from this new team and the 140 mil signings, than just a small win in Miami...

Not all...Just some...I say about 25% of Jet fans will ALWAYS find ways to complain and ALWAYS find a player or two who had a down game...Thats just the life of being a Jets fan I guess...Me, im the type of fan who respects what this Jets front office has done in the offseason...I respect the type of game we just had.

We dominated the trenches...And as we all know...It all starts up front.

We also went into Miami and won a tough AFC East game...

But once again, Jet fans will always find ways to complain after a 1-0 start...

These same fans who are complaining right now...Just wait until a Jets loss! They make it SO BAD and depressing, where I just feel like staying off the computer

We were all complaining and whining when Vegas gave us only 3 points for this game and now everyone's ecstatic because we squeaked out a W by 6 points.

    I don't get it.

I would still be happy we got the win, but this team still has a ways to go. A wins a win though. Just seeing the better teams in the league crush other teams that they should beat is a little disheartening and then to watch us squeak out a should of been convincing win.

Miami is a team that has gotten a lot better from last season. Their D line played pretty well today. Fasano looks like a great TE. Pennington is definitely an upgrade at QB. They are a team that will win some ballgames this season. So the Jets shouldn't be too depressed over a close win.

Well, obviously Pats didnt have Brady the Panthers are still a decent team. The fish will be lucky to win 3 games this year.

My only complaint was some of the playcalling. At times I felt like the Jets coaches were playing with a loser mentality (play not to lose as opposed to playing to win). That causes some concern for future games...

    Thrilled with the win though!

And we have a bunch of guys still developing chemistry and were playing in 100 degree heat. Plus, their QB knows our D even better than our current QB.

And don't underrate the Dolphins, I could still see them being a 6-7 win team and being in the middle of the pack. Bringing in Pennington at least gives them some legitimacy with their QB position.
