Hey man, I'm just tryin to enjoy a WIN...didn't get to do that much last season. Because they were able to drive against a prevent defense, you're assuming our play was "flawed"...but it worked just the way it was supposed to. They didn't score. I'm not even saying I liked or agreed with that defensive strategy...but it worked and we won. Chad came close to winning...but that's not winning. I had enough of those "almost wons" last year.
ummm, no, when it matter most was when dolphins were in the red zone and we nearly picked on off then revis did pick one off, our d did the job when it mattered.
We were playing to run down the clock and not allow the big plays.. though it was disturbing watching Penny march straight down the field. You could also say when it mattered most, the defense came up with a game-ending interception.
Yes, add the 4 points any healthy plackicker would have got us and its not that close. We did a good job with no kicking game. I'm happy.
I'm happy we won too. And as time goes on i'm happier about it. The initial shock of Pennington almost dismantling our win had me a little pissed off.
He looked good against our soft "prevent" coverage. A lot of QBs will look good against it this year because our prevent D sucks. It sucked in 2006 as well. The only reason why people forgot is because we were trailing in most games last year and as such never really used it. Remember the first Miami game last year? If not go back and watch the highlights. It looked just like today's game.
Chad was Chad. He ate us alive underneath, but was not a threat down feild. A couple of miss reads in the red Zone scored him some points. a Good game plan, but not the type that comes back late in the 4th. Just what we saw today.
Our lack of offense in the 2nd half put too much pressure on our D, I think our D played great but by the 4th they were dead tired and it showed...they came up with a big play at the end and that is all that matter. Offense has to stay aggressive.
The Baltimore game last year was a very similar game as well, except that we were on the losing side trying to win on the last drive.
100 degree weather will do that to ya. I'm a bit disappointed from that last drive too but honestly, if Nuge doesn't get hurt or Woody doesn't make that dumbass false start penalty, among other things, I wouldn't have had any problems with the way things played out.
What are we talking about here? The D played a solid game all the way. Miami started every drive from the 35 - 40 yard line because we had no kicking game. We held them consistently. The second touch-down by Chad was a gem and uncoverable. On the last drive the prevent defense worked for Pete's sake. With 3 up front Chad was still rushed and the coverage with Lawry, Rhodes and Revis was superb. Still worried about Barrett some. Our run defense came to play today. I am still a little worried about our OL pass coverage, but Miami's D played lights out. Kudos to them.
I was there and this is completely correct. We had to get out of the heat it was fucking unbearable. Thankfully we snuck into the club seats that were shaded. In the sun it was way over 100 degrees. The D got gassed at the, end BFD. I guess Jet fans are never fucking happy. This game was not as close as it appeared. The Jets had no fucking special teams.................jesus this is fucking stupid.
