http://www.newyorkjets.com/blog/posts/670-jets-announce-captains-courageous-for-08 I'm glad this guy is the Jets head coach. He is the antithesis of Herm, he really is. I'm also a lot less worried about what Penny knows about the Jets after watching that.
Favre is so f***in' positive!! How can you not love this guy? I can understand why lots of Packer fans have followed him to the Jets. What a great time to be a Jet fan!!! Let's kick some dolphin ass on Sunday and be 1-0, then give BB some payback!
I hear ya man. The best part of that Favre press conference to me was when he said "I'm confident with what we have in right now" in reference to the plays they plan on using Sunday. That's the first time since he's been a Jet that he's said he's confident w/the playbook. And I believe him.
I don't know if you guys have something preventing you from installing real player, but you can download it for free here: http://europe.real.com/download/pla..._basic_playerpg_4&rsrc=fd_eu_basic_playerpg_4
The Hot Seat I am glad you guys enjoy Mangini's press conferences. I've never enjoyed them very much at all. Mangini is a dull speaker, he never reveals anything, and I think I'd rather watch paint dry than listen to the guy. After listening to electric personalities like Bill Parcells and Herm Edwards run the show, Mangini seems ineffectual and, frankly, inexperienced. I figure a lot of Jets fans, like you guys, also enjoy his press conferences... AFTER the Jets win, that is. I doubt you guys will enoy them if the Jets fail to win many games this year. I believe the Jets will win on Sunday, but you know what? If they lose, the "FIRE MANGINI" chants will begin in earnest. And they will be deserved. If Mangini can't put together a winning team with the players his owner bough? He just has to go. And then, we will see how much Jets fans enjoy his press conferences. Hey, before anyone attacks me, I think that Tom Coughlin is a total dimwit. He's a toal bastard, the kind of sports figure I would never want to meet. If he was hanging out in the bar acrsss the street from me? I would run the other way. On th other hand, if he coached the Jets to a Super Bowl victory? I'd love to have a drink with the guy.
You can't be listening to the same ones as I am. Mangini is a really funny guy, I love his conferences.
Then don't listen to the man talk...Go watch paint dry or simple change the channel...It's simple. How many SB's has Herm Edwards won with either the Jets or Chiefs? How many years has Herm been a head coach? I guess BB of the Patriots also sounds...Well... "ineffectual and inexperienced" because Mangini sounds just about the same as "Mr.Mumbles" And you know what? Fans around the NFL call BB "mumbles"....For a reason.
Okay. There's a bunch of guys on here who enjoy the droning monotone... The "dull bee." (Odd Couple reference, sorry) Sorry to say, I really enjoyed those Bill Parcells press conferences, back in the day. That's what got me into listening to them. He was the master of the press conference. he totally kicked ass! He was large and in charge. So now we have Eric Mangini, who was a disciple of Bill Belichek, who is probably the worst at dealing with the press. Is this what you guys like? A Belichek disciple who is paranoid and hates the media? Well, you certainly have your wish. Me, I miss Parcells.
When have you ever heard Jet fans chanting... "FIRE MANGINI" Can you please show me a link or a youtube video or something? Most Jet fans love the fact that he's a young coach who is committed to winning while learning on the ropes, we also enjoy the fact that he has learned from the BB and BP's coaching tree. Do you know the record of the Browns while Bill Belichick was the head coach? It wasn't pretty...And you know why? Because BB NEVER had an elite QB when coaching the Browns. Fans like you are the reasons why coaches like Bill Cowher and Tony Dungy are so rare...How about we give Mangini more than a year to work with players such as Favre, Jenkins, Fanca, Pace, Woody, Gholston, Keller, Richardson and plenty of others before we "Run him outta town"
You miss Parcells? You mean the man that just quit on the Jets? You mean the man that is now trying to beat the Jets with the Dolphins? You mean the Parcells that wanted to be the coach of the cowboys? P.S...Parcells is an @$$ Hole with a Capital A... You think he was friendly to the media? The man was a bully because of his "NFL Power" Do you know how many times Parcells has made a reporter feel "---" THis big? Or maybe I should say...Made them feel like nothing! Do you know how many times? I'm not sure about you...But I'm glad Mangini is a different type of person...Parcells will ALWAYS be known as a quitter in my eyes
Yes, I miss Bill Parcells. He's the man who took a Rich Kotite coached team that went 4-12 and turned them around in one season and missed the playoffs by one game. Check it out, dirtbag: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Parcells This is also the guy who coached the Jets to the AFC championship game against the Broncos the next year and we missed the F'N Super Bowl by just a field goal here or there. Cheez Whiz! You are calling one of the greatest coaches in New York Jets history: "an @$$ Hole with a Capital A"???? Whose side are you on? What, you want me to idolize some Bill Belichek wannabe who went 10-6 with Herm Edwards' team? Someone who has yet to prove himself on the New York stage? And Hell, yeah! Parcells was anti-media! And a bully! But obviously, since you live in Florida, and not New York City, you just don't understand the NYC attitude. And obviously, this is why certain jerk-offs on this message board do not understand ME at all. The media LOVED Bill Parcells. He gave as good as he got. But Floridians like you just don't get it. If you can't relate to at least five of the names I list below here, and why they are important to the New York Jets? Names that are intrinsic to the history of New York City? AND the Jets? You might be New York Jets fans, but you'll never understand the culture of New York City, and you do NOT even deserve to be Jets fans, IMHO. And if you attack me again, I will use the power of Thomas Nast to defeat you! (And anyone who doesn't know who Thomas Nast was doesn't even deserve US citizenship!) Jimmy Breslin Heidi Steve Serby Al Aronowitz Norman Mailer Joe Namath Farrah Fawcett Robert Moses Leon Hess
Right on--I believe him too because I believe everything that comes out of his mouth. I think he is a straight shooter all the way. The best part for me was him saying that he feels he has to prove himself everyday and that he never rests on the past. (No knock on Chad--He has all the same great virtues but something is different here--)
didn't Mangini inherit a 4-12 team and then take them to the Playoffs - actually got them into the Playoffs, not missed it by one game - in his first year?
