August 31, 2008 Source: Pats grab TE Pociask It wouldn?t be a roster-cutdown weekend without some Jets-Patriots stuff going on. Former Jets TE Jason Pociask, perhaps the most surprising of yesterday?s cuts by Eric Mangini, has been claimed on waivers by the Patriots, according to a source. Pociask was expected to make the Jets? 53-man roster - Mangini pretty much said so last week - but he was victimized by a numbers crunch. The Jets kept four quarterbacks and seven wide receivers, probably costing Pociask a job. Pociask, 25, was a fifth-round pick in 2006. He appeared in only four games in ?06 and ?07, but he had a strong camp, impressing with his blocking and versatility. The Foxborough-Hempstead shuttle lives. Or, should we call it the Foxborough-Florham Park shuttle?
he's a promising player, and BB loves blocking/short yardage TEs. He'll be there for a while, unless they are using him for spy tactics.
I liked Pociask and thought he played pretty well this preseason. He's not great but is definitely a good guy for the vet minimum. It sucks that the Pats have him now. He has a legitimate chance of sticking on their roster. Only Ben Watson is really in front of him. Happy for Jason but it's tough to let him go. Maybe we should have PUP'd Clowney and kep Pociask.
The pats are thin at TE, everyone was surprised they kept Stephen Spach, but he was the only one that could block. Watson is OK, and Thomas is strictly a receiving TE. Is this guy really any good?
Belichik is simply poaching our castoffs for playbook information, a la Spygate. And Pociask, who is desperate to stick with the team, will tell Beli-scum everything he knows about our playbook, players + coaches' tendencies, strategy etc. What an f-ing dirtbag. Belicheat deserves to be publicly disgraced with ball sack cancer.
Hes going to spill our playbook to Bellycheat. I hate that scum bag, I hope he splits his head open and falls head first into a bucket full of AIDS.
He made a couple of nice runs after catch--something I don't see too often from Baker. One of the runs had tacklers falling off him. Hated to see him cut. Real bummer that NE got him but, pales in comparison to Miami getting Chad though not as bad as Parcells picking up Garner. I guess Mangini is a genius--if you define genius as helping out one's divisional opponents.
The Pats have played us 7 times since Mangini/Schotty came to town and have acquired a number of our players. They probably won't get much, if anything from this guy that they didn't already know. When teams are signing guys that we cut because we had better players, that's a good problem to have. Ainge most likely would have never made it to the practice squad either. I would like to see BB fall head first into a bucket of AIDS though.
let the overreaction begin! This guy is nothing more then a young kid with average potential. He will be the Pats third string TE. 30 teams had the chance to pick him up before the Pats and none did, let's get off the ledge people.
