After his shoulder was injured we were watching a leader who was afraid to take it to the enemy. Favre operates like a guy who isn't afraid to attack any part of the field and he has the artillery to back it up.

Could have had something to do with the fact that we ushered suck-ass Tony Wise out of town and replaced him with an excellent O-line coach. Not to mention Faneca and Woody having more time with the line. Getting rid of Wise and Bradway this offseason are both going to be excellent moves.

Mangini made an interesting quote in a presser a couple of weeks back.

What kind of QB do you think he would consider Chad? And do you think that a QB that doesn't utilize the full-field is truly a great field general?

@1:16 proves your point which I totally agree with. 3rd and 16 and he goes for the homerun. Right on the button. No fear.

Chad was good but he had demons that he couldn't shake and was questioned way too much about his ability and for good reason. Very skeptical for a leader. Guys did look up too him but he can't hold a candle to Favre. He got very conservative. There is no way he could attack the sidelines like Brett does.

Chad utilized the checkdown, and the play action seam route - when he had a top 5 running game.

Mangini not only unloaded Chad he let him go to a division opponent without a fight. That's pretty telling right there.

They didn't have a choice, if they did they would have traded him but they were under the gun to get under the cap and everyone knew it so they had no trade leverage.

Leverage comes from the players value to other teams much more so than any teams desire to trade a player. If a player is highly sought we would have had leverage up until clossing time on the cap move. Pennington's value just wasn't there which is why he took the only starting job he got offered for far less money than was reported.

They only had a few hours to get it done. I am sure the Jets were very upset he went to Miami. I know I am, Miami has a much better shot to beat us now than pre-Favre trade.

Under normal circumstances I would agree but we were basically playing a poker game with our cards showing and couldn't beat 10 high. The only thing we could do is fold.

That's assuming we're playing them with a QB like Pennington. It was an upgrade for them no question, but I'd say our upgrade was a little better and it trumps anything that Pennington could bring to the table. Add the improved OL play and this offense could be a very different beast then the baby lamb that we've been accustomed to.

That, plus Penny will be running for his life all day. Man I can't wait to watch that..

They could have signed Drew Bledsoe or Vinny and the bolded statement would be just as true.

 Gotta admit, that is pretty true. You could insert quite a list of QB's that would have made them better.

Mangini is right when he says everyone is in play. Absolutely. One of Favre's greatest strength is his eyes, he just sees the entire field and that is why the Packers had a 5 WR formation because Favre could take it all in and anyone of those 5 guys had a shot at the ball if they got open.

Even more than his gun arm Favre has vision skills like no other.

Not really but you can believe that if it makes you feel better. Chad is smarter than Favre and had a year of exposure to henning's offense earlier in his career plus he knows our team very well. This game went from pretty much a gimme to now a very tough game to win.

I think we are hyping up their defense a little too much. They will remind me of the Browns defense against the Giants. No CBs and a DL thats older and worse than the Browns DL. Browns DL is actually good, so maybe I'm insulting them.

Favre vs that D makes this game still very winnable.
