?That kid has a bright future ? believe me,? he said. ?Some quarterback will throw to him a lot over the years and they?ll be lucky to have him.? (Favre on Keller)

If anyone knows talent it would be Favre and I really like what he had to say there! I think Keller is going to be a beast!

Nice to hear Favre giving props to Keller. And just think how many people complained when he was selected !

I've had my hopes for this kid since we drafted him, didn't know much about him but the youtube clips I saw got me pretty excited. I figured what kind of role he would play immediately, and now that he is living up to billing (so far) I am happy as hell we traded up for him. He'll probably be one of Favre's primary RZ and 3rd down targets all year long.

LOL @ the people who bitched about "drafting *another* first round TE" as if they're all made the same...

Keller looked good in the last preseason game but the title of this thread sounds pretty gay.

As a Jet, neither has Favre, but you still have him in your username.

That was addressed to the people mocking folks who didn't like the draft pick when he's really done nothing at this level yet. I think Favre has sufficiently proven himself at the NFL level.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about all the praise he's getting too. For the record, I was pretty much in the same boat as you were when he was drafted.

    I accept your apology.

I hear that saying things that "sound gay" is the first symptom of the disease.

I won't lie, I was down on the pick from the start. I'm glad to have been proven wrong so far, but let's not write his ticket to Canton yet.

Guilty! Going into the draft I just didn't see TE as a position of need, especially not trading UP into the first round to do it, and I didn't know jack about Keller until after I saw the clips of him in college.

I was blown away when I saw the clips, but I just didn't know how his skills would translate in the NFL. Holy hell am I glad I was wrong...

Favre has a history of loving the Tight Ends in the Red Zone. Chmura, Bubba Franks. One year I think 75% of Franks' catches were TD's. A solid TE with Favre is good for the Jets.

i would have sure been happy if he had said something about his blocking as there is really not much doubt he has alot of talent as a receiver.

Love it. I know I've been criticizing Favre on this board a lot but when a guaranteed future Hall of Famer says something like that about a young talent you know it is legit!

I was moreso in the "WTF, Brandon Flowers is still on the board and we need a #2 CB!" camp.

Damnit. The Chefs hit the fuggin jackpot with that kid. You'll see! You'll all see! Muahahahahahaaaa! Just imagine this young secondary if we had moved up a few picks later to pick up Flowers: Revis, Flowers, Poteat at Nickel (okay he's not young but you need a vet), Lowery and Coleman at corner. Maybe keep Miller around for a couple more years to see if he can get better. Rhodes and Smith/Elam at safety isn't bad at all either.
