do we plan on having a left fielder and a centerfielder next year or no? How many yeears in a row are we going to field a half a tesm before they throw this cashman out on his ass.....gardner 0-5......what a clown. And wheres that cappy fella....he disappeared for 3 months then pops back in for a week when we won a few games in a row and now hes gone again.hmmmmm
Kay, believe it or not, just made a good point. The camera was on Girardi and he says something to the effect of Girardi was brought here to change the way the yankees play and to get the team to manufacture runs, play small ball etc. And then he says that the yankees have not done that. And hes right. Injuries aside for a second. Is there anyone here who truly feels like Girardi has made any impact on this team, has he any footprint? It's the same old team. its the same old approach. We've had a couple threads asking that we grade Girrdi and ive given hijm like c's. I gotta lower that to a D in light of my new realization. The whole idea of the Girardi was to get us out of this rut we've been for 4 years. Very unimpressed with this Girardi fella at this point
Giambi 0-5 tonight. That's tremendous. Thank God the misery is almost over with that clown, fuck you you fat guido fuck...fuck you and your "fantastic eye". I dont care how many times you can work a walk you fat steroid-taking cunt--How about this orangutan Christian. Is this guy kidding me? Is he fucking kidding me ?? First he falls down in the basepath like a fuckin fat little league kid, and now he gets picked off as the tying run in the ninth inning...what is with all these fuckin clowns that we keep bringing up from the minors? Theyre all fuckin clowns! Like cunting fuckin baboons. How bout that stupid, ugly bastard, mother fucker melky bootin the ball in the outfield because hes waving to the crowd like hes fuckin williw mays hayes? I keep looking in the dugout expecting to see walter matthau in there smokin a cigar. Is this the brilliant system that cashman built? Is this why Im supposed to keep cashman around? Because he finally talked tampa into holding on to kids. Fuck his sister right now. Every fuckin mope I see come up through our system is a retarded fuckin retard.Has anyone seen this Kennedy pitch yet? hmmm? Are you fucking serious? Are you fucking serious?!?!?Does anyone even know what Phil Hughes even looks like? I wouldnt recognize this carl pavano wanna be homo bastard if he came ovoer and shit on my fuckin lawn, thata bastard. We had people on this board calling this mother fucker Phil franchise. Has he pitched yet for us? Is he tall? short? black? I couldnt tell you. Robinson cano.....someone wanna explain him to me real quick? Have you seen a young ball player with any less common sense in your life? Have you met a more casual unenthused shitbag before? Where did he learn to play? P.S 89? What the fuck is going on in the minors? Fuck this team, fuck me...fuck stick michael up his ass for all I fuckin care, this team can eat my balls, im done.
If it comes out that Cashman was the one who decided to spend far less than usual in the draft and IFA just because he thought Cole was a lock to sign (he decided to go to UCLA on the last day), I'll be pretty down on him. His goal was to spend for amateur talent, and now there's a possibility he's the one being cheap in that area. They now have to go above and beyond on the amateur market next year. They'll have another first round pick for not signing Cole, they should have a few comp. picks by letting some of their own FAs walk, and could end up with a top 15 pick if they continue the downward spiral, which will allow them to sign CC or Tex or Sheets and hold on to that 1st round pick. But they can't risk another year of losing a high-end high school player to college, especially if it's with the pick for Cole, since you don't get one two years in a row. And at the same time, they can't go for cheap easy signs, they have to get high-end talent. All this with an aging roster and young guys that are underperforming (although their best position player prospects haven't hit the majors yet). Not good.
Sop the players are blameless? This sounds like the Torre excuses where when we won the players were praised and when we lost the Mgr got the blame. The players deserve more credit and more blame. The bats have not gotten it done, Girardi has tried. When your best players aren't performing it's hard to win.
of course the players are not blame-free. Notice I did mention that melky, cano and giambi can go die somewhere for all I care. Ive made my stances clear on Jeter and other playera as well...youre right about A-rod also by the way. Im just sayin that Girardi has not changed the approach of this team one bit and cashman hasnt been able to build a "team" in 5 years..I dont know that I can look at any yankee besides Joba and Mariano(and whats up with him lately) and actuall say that I like him.
I will defer to you on this subject as you are cleary most knowledgeable with the draft and draft procedures, are you saying that in your book the Casman watch has begun? I just dont see how he deserves to stay.
dude, spot on. Makes me laugh whenever someone says a move would have cost the yankees too much money etc....completely assinine. Like the fans are paying it. Unless of course you feel t-shirts and ticket prices will drop if the yankee payroll dropos. hhahha totally stupid.
I don't know, I think they want him back and he probably wants to come back. But if he's now giving orders to pass on certain players due to money, that's a problem. It could easily be bad scouting by head amateur scout Damon Oppenheimer (who's allowed to have an off-draft after the last 2-3 years) or more penny-pinching from Hal. But if it's Cashman, then there's definitely a problem. It's probably not him, I would bet it's Hal being cheap and not wanting to spend big for amateur talent when he knows the Yankees will be big players for free agents this off-season.
Looked like it was going to be another awful afternoon after the top 1st. Now it's 4-3 NYY in the bottom of the 1st.
RBI double for Molina, followed by a RBI triple for Gardner on what would have been barely a double for most. hmy:
Giambi with the grand slam, 10-0 yankees. So far this inning Derek Jeter Single Steals 2nd, advances to 3rd on throwing error Abreu Walks Rodriguez Walks Giambi Grand Slam Nady Singles Cano Singles pitching change Molina lines out to 2B, Cano doubled off first (2 outs) 6 batters reached base before recording an out, 4 runs... Gardner up with 2 outs and 2 on EDIT: flyout to center... oh well. 10-3 yankees
Obviously Cabrerra and Hughes should have been traded before the season started (for Santana, even though it wouldn't have taken that much) but all the Cashman ass kissers here will tell you why that shouldn't have happened. Now, combined, they are worth less than nothing but those same people will still tell you how smart a decision it was.
So with Matsui coming back possibly this tuesday, how do you still play the rest of the guys? Nady & Damon still need to play with Matsui occupying the DH roll. Some options i've thought up: 1) Matsui (DH), Damon (LF), Nady (1B) with Giambi on the bench 2) Damon (DH), Nady (LF), Giambi (1B) with Matsui on the bench ...any other ideas?
I hope this is some sort of sprigboard, we have sturggled w/ KC all year. Maybe that tough win on Saturday started a roll? We can only hope.
3) Nady (LF), Damon (CF), Matsui (DH), Giambi (1B) with Gardner on the bench. The only thing that might change is if they somehow decide to put Nady in CF and Damon stays in LF.
This isn't really on topic but I just feel compelled to point out insane this statement is. The payroll? Money is irrelevant to the Yankees, it's only going to become more so after this year with the new park. So that leaves the players. Johan Santana is a dominant ace, in the very top tier of #1 starters. Phil Hughes is a dude that had some impressive numbers in the minor leagues, has nasty stuff, and sure, may be an ace one day, but could just as easily be a flop. Melky is looking more and more like a career 4th outfielder. There is absolutely no reason to not make that deal. Sure, having homegrown talent is great, but if you can get something more valuable in return, any prospect should be touchable in trade discussions.
