You are not screwed. Your friend is screwed. (Although, with huge division rivals . . . you never really know for sure)
$100? In today's economy, a $100 bet is less than a full tank of gas, so what the heck are you worried about? Are you hen-pecked or something? (Wait a minnit--for you younger people, "hen-pecked"="pussy-whipped") Anyhow, I think that is a pretty safe bet.
Does anyone else find it strange that the early line on the game has remained Jets -3, even after we traded for Favre and Pennington went from us to them? I know it's early for any kind of line, but it didn't move at all with all those changes.
I think Mangini will line up Coles as a defensive back and every play he'll jump up and yell "I'm open." Pennington will either throw it to Coles for the interception out of habit, hesitate too long fighting the habit, or laugh his ass off long enough for our DL to get a sack.
Thanks. A lot of good stuff. The -3 point spread does make me nervous now that I really think about it. Who in their right mind is going to take Mia? and I don't think for a second that the casinos and the various other gambling organizations are going to take a bath on this game. This leads me to believe that the Jets win by 2. That would also be the perfect set up for the next week when the Jets play the Pats. Maybe the Pats are only favored by 4 or 5. Everyone throws their mortgage payment on the Pats thinking the Jets aren't that good because they barely beat the Fins. Boom! Jets by a fg. Conspiracy theories are fun! Maybe Tom Donaghy makes a week 2 guest appearance as a line judge???
$100 is less then a tank of gas?!? WTF? Let's see, an avg car has a 12-17 gallon tank. At $3.70/gal that is $44-$63. To get to the $100 mark you have to a 27 gallon gas tank. What do you drive? An original Hummer?
I was thinking the same thing. Why would they set a line for Week 1 before the rosters are set? I mean, what if you got in at -3 and the entire Miami O-Line got hurt? The bookies would be screwed. No sane bookie would be setting lines already.
I don't doubt there's an early line, I just want to look at them because I've been unable to find them.
jets will win because of, lets be honest chad is good but when the defense knows you and knows the arm strength knows your weakness what can you do? chad knows our defense but c'mon our dline kerry rhodes, david harris, dolphins dont know what they are going to deal with here...
I just logged on to one of the many books I use(TheGreek) and it was on there. Most of them are already up. Sportsbook's is also up but no data has been posted on where the money's coming in http://www.sportsbook.com/sportsbook/trends.php?sportName=nfl
I've seen it in the NY Post for the past week or two, all the Week 1 games. I'm not even a gambler, I just noticed it and thought it was strange that they would have a line already, and also that the Favre and Pennington moves didn't affect it at all.
Wow, that's awesome info. I didn't even bother to check the lines on the day of the move(cause I don't bet on MIA games) but that's really interesting. Wasn't there a 2 day gap between the Favre trade and Pennington signing with Miami? I'd love to know what the line movement in those 2 days was, if any.
