Jets don't need another OLB, they have Gholston and Pace. Team needs include: QB, RB (depending on your view of the backfield), WR, CB, ILB, FS
Didn't realize this was only for the Jets In that case: Mike Mickens, CB, Cincinatti. Crazy athleticism and speed. If he can add a little weight, he'll be phenomenal.
It's not just for the Jets, it's for any prospect you want. And Dirty Mike Mickens has some serious skill, as far as senior corners go, Jenkins is the only one I'd say off the top of my head is better. Maybe Smith at Wake too.
Okay, GM kinda messed me up there RE: Selvie. Vontae Davis out of Illinois is a heavy hitter and very good prospect, but I worry about his speed. Also, doesn't UConn have a kid, whos name is escaping me? And I really like Moore out of Vandy, but he's only a junior and might not declare.
I think you might be confusing Vontae with someone. Davis is one of the fastest guys in college football, probably the only human being to ever run down Joe McKnight anywhere.
My bad I didn't realize it was a general prospect thread. In that case I'd have to post about Taylor Mays. Free/Strong Safety, 6'4, 230 lbs, 4.3 40. Excels in zone coverage, big hitter, plays a very physical brand of football. Scary dude.
You can say all you want about James Laurinaitis and Rey Maualuga, but Jasper Brinkley is the nasiest and best linebacker in 2009's class right now. Brinkley's 6'2 270 and he was clocked at 4.54 at the beginning of the summer...coming off of a knee injury. Imagine how fast he is now...being 5 pounds lighter and 100% back from his knee injury. He's a tackling machine and he'll lead a very, very strong South Carolina defense. I can't wait to watch these guys dominate in '08.
Jasper Brinkley = the most underrated prospect in college football right now. He's like a blend of Rey and James...more disciplined than Rey...but a better tackler and more physical than James... Good call there.
I love Jasper, being a huge Carolina fan. But he needs to stay on the field and I'm not sure if he is going to be able to. He has an ankle injury and he is coming off the big knee injury last year. Carolina needs big things from him, hopefully he can deliver. I think he would fit very well into the Jets 3-4 defense, as a replacement for Barton. Brinkley and Harris could do serious wreckage for a long time.

I was watching the UCLA-Tennessee game tonight, and junior CB Alterraun Verner impressed me a lot. Hauled in an INT, had great coverage in his assignments, and knew how to wrap up the ball carrier and tackle. He's only 5'11" 177, but guy seemed to have a feel for the position.
Greg Hardy will probably stay for his senior year after this injury/surgery. He is a beast though... Right now I'm watching the Ball State/Navy game and Ball State's WR Dante Love looks like a big time sleeper prospect. He could shoot up draft boards after this season. If he stays healthy, he'll put up HUGE numbers. He's not very big, but he makes up for his lack of size with speed, great hands, route running ability, and just all around versatility. This guy's a baller.
As a big Irish fan, I can definitely say that after this year I am glad that I wont see Curtis Painter of Purdue carve us up. I haven't felt that good about a QB since Quinn, I think Painter's the real deal and have liked him since his sophomore year.
Antonio Dixon from Miami is really interesting. Big time size, and he's a really good athlete. I like what he's showing tonight so far...it's real early though. Tebow's got an arm. The Florida DL is sick. Carlos Dunlap is just a sick athlete.... You can tell Miami's offense was nervous but this team's got more fight than the past couple teams did. The freshmen are definitely getting more confident as this game goes on.
Tyrell Sutton, RB, Northwestern Sutton has finally gotten himself healthy and is running very well. So far, he's got 210 yards on just 37 carries (5.7 YPC). A four-year starter, Sutton ran for 1500 yards and a 6.0 YPC as a true freshman. He can even catch well out of the backfield, 118 catches so far in his career. He's 5'9, 200, but he runs a lot bigger than that. If he can get his 40-time down to the mid-4.4s, he could be a first or second round pick.
I'm on board with Mccoy as well............ I think this guy will have all the goods. Size, Speed, Hands, Power.
