Dailynews is also live blogging the practice. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...og_brett_favres_first_practice_wi.html?page=1
I love the play-by-play. "Brett's stretching, now he's running." Hillarious and obviously I am hanging on every word.
"Left early from the city, expecting hundreds of thousands of people abandoning their cars and walking down Hempstead Turnpike, a la Woodstock... Maybe the media didn't cover this enough over the past few days. In case the word isn't out yet, I'll break the news: Brett Favre was traded to the Jets."
There are actually several Jets fans on this board in California. I'm in LA, fenwyr is somewhere in the area, Dr. Christian Troy...I believe Rich Miano drives out a lot from...Vegas, maybe?
We've got several west coast games this year. I always told myself I'd never go back to Oakland after I was threatened with a broken beer bottle the last time and had one of my tires slashed, but I might have to break that. I'm at least going to SD and Seattle. Maybe SF? Qualcomm is a great place to watch a visiting team play. I sat in the Charger alumni section for the 02 game on alumni day. Stuck out like a sore thumb surrounded by former Chargers and nobody said a word even when I got a bit obnoxious when the Jets blew out the Chargers.
I'd expect some of that early on. It'll take some adjusting, but god damn...you're an NFL TE and you have a tough time with a hard thrown ball?
Baker is one guy who better get his shit together really fast if he wants to get any meaningful playing time this year. With Keller being the supreme talent that he is, and Bubba Franks being the Favre security blanket that he is, the coaches really don't need that many excuses to bench his ass. I personally would hate that because I think he is a talented player who can make plays in the intermediate passing game. But dude needs to buck up.
