Its a business and chad has followed the money plus there is also the bonus for him ( in his mind ) of getting some instant payback. i don't care what people say we are all human and enjoy getting revenge in any form. He is a decent guy but an inury prone, noodle armed qb who is now playing for the worst team in football. Even with the signings Parcells made they still lost there best player in Taylor and the OL is dreadful excl Long.

One day after his release from New York, he found what looks to be a starting job with the Miami Dolphins. Pennington, 32, agreed Friday night to a two-year, $11.5 million contract that pretty well locks him into starting, according to a source. Contacted by six teams on Thursday, Pennington wasted no time reuniting with the person who brought him into the NFL as a first-round pick of the Jets, Bill Parcells. Parcells pushed hard over the past 48 hours to get a deal with Pennington done. Pennington was scheduled to make $6 million with the Jets but was released when New York acquired Brett Favre from the Green Bay. The Packers get a fourth-round choice that could be upgraded to a No. 1 depending on Favre's play. Top backup quarterbacks usually make around $3 million a year, which makes it apparent the Dolphins plan to use Pennington in a starting role. The Dolphins, coming off a 1-15 season, will open the season against the Jets in Miami, giving Pennington an immediate chance to face his former team. "We are neither confirming nor denying the report," Dolphins spokesman Harvey Greene said Friday night. Before the signing, Pennington said he was disappointed but had no hard feelings after being released by the Jets. "I have enjoyed it," Pennington told the AP Friday in his first public comments since his release. "I've learned a lot, become a better professional and a better man because of my experience and my time in New York. I don't regret or feel ashamed about anything that happened to me in my time in New York. "The most difficult part is just the realization that the organization no longer wants you. You spend eight years there and, in the blink of an eye, you're no longer wanted there." Pennington ranks first in NFL history among quarterbacks with at least 1,500 attempts with a 65.6 completion percentage. He was often recognized as being a leader in the huddle and an intelligent field general, but was dogged throughout his time in New York for his lack of arm strength. With Pennington as the starter and Parcells liking his second-round choice, Chad Henne, the Dolphins will probably be in a position to release or trade one of their other quarterbacks. Josh McCown had been considered the top quarterback on their depth chart. He signed a two-year, $6.25 million contract this winter. John Beck, a second-round choice last year, had been running third string behind McCown and Henne.
I'm not so sure about all this "poor Penny" stuff. I realize a lot of folks on this "message board" just love to pile on Chad. He's the QB we all love to hate. I've personally never seen most of a whole stadium boo its own QB except for Chad this past year. But I also remember something very well -- Chad is a very smart football player who can and will take advantage of a blade of grass when he sees it is pointing the right way for him. I remember how pissed off Peyton Manning got when Chad was running the "sugar huddle" to enraging perfection, and the Colts defense was jumping off sides and missiing the play and the NYJs were scoring on the bastards. I also recollect Chad faking that Bills db so bad he broke right and fell down while Chad waltzed into the end-zone at his 6.0 forty sprinting best. I do not believe the Pats love to play Chad as much as we all love to hate Chad either. He came off the bench and played Brady to a standstill in that second game last year. It was indeed Parcells who invented the "Noodle-Arm" moniker for Chad, and I am sure that "Noodle-Arm" will ring out across the Fish practice fields on a regular basis starting this weekend. Somebody is going to be beating the hell out of Chad with that label mercilessly in person down there, and not just on some quiet "message board". The reason is that somebody down there knows something about Chad that none of us believe anymore. Maybe ole Noodle-Arm has a lot left. Should be very interesting.
WHY Chad???? Why would you go to Miami? why wouldn't you go to a place where you'll have a chance to win?
First of all, Ricky Williams can no longer be called anything close to a "stud." At best by now he's a complete and utter shell of his former self. Second, at this point Chad Pennington is worse than the 2002 version of Jay Fiedler.
Remember, Parcells is there now, he'll turn them around. Chad will probably be down there winning games long after Favre has retired in tears again.
Oh man, just wait until you see Ricky.... Less than a week ago, he was going to be the Jets starting QB, and from camp blogs / reports, his arm was looking pretty good. Now all of a sudden, since he's landed in Miami, he's worse than Jay Fiedler?? Ok.... IN TUNA WE TRUST....
I hope both Favre and Penny are leading their teams for 3+ years to come. What I am scared to death about is a 0-3 start. If Chad were to pull off the revenge of a lifetime in week 1, which I would say is not impossible in their house, followed by losses to NE and SD....Can you imagine if Favre plays bad and we are 0-3 how bad the media will pile on that the Jets are again the laughing stock of the league and should have known better than to mortgage their future on a 38 yr old qb who has "emotional" issues and was never really in love with playing in NY.....THAT IS MY NIGHTMARE. At 0-3, statistically speaking the season is basically over. The chances of winning 10 out of the 13 remaining games which is what will be needed to get a wildcard in the AFC is basically less than 10%. End result Favre will pack his bags and be one and done and we are right back to where we started. I CANNOT emphasize how important winning week 1 is, and against Chad with everything that went down....I get an uneasy feeling in my stomach. I hope I am wrong, but just don't like the pressure right off the bat that we will be facing.
Not just Jay Fiedler. Also probably Brian Griese, when the Fins had him as their backup. He can't lead an nfl offense anymore. it's that simple.
Parcells isn't coaching, he's getting the players and we know how much of a disaster that was when he was here.
This is exactly what I am thinking. Before the Chad signing, I was saying week 1 was the key to the season. Week 2 will be wild, but we need to face it that it is likely the cheaters will win & week 3 (SD away) is very likely to lose. We must be 2-2 at the bye (assuming a week 4 win) or we have major trouble. Chad in Miami for that first game worries me.
Uhhh no... Less than a week ago we were scared because Clemens couldn't beat Pennington in camp. And yes at this point Fiedler would probably be a better option. I like Pennington I really do, but physically he is probably the weakest QB in the NFL and with that comes predictability. Say hello to the 5 yard dump off when you need 10.

Favre admitted to wanting to go to Minnesota to play GB twice a year and stick it to them, and we love him despite that vengeful attitude, but Chad goes to the Dolphins for the same reason, and he is a selfish ass for exhibiting that type of attitude. don't be hypocrites. I'm glad Chad got a starting job and doesn't have to be relegated to a back-up if it makes him happy, and I'm glad it is for the Dolphins -- it only makes those two games against them easier.
I simply think Chad went to a team where he had the best chance to start. He thinks he is a starter in the league, and I think Miami was the only team that was willing to hand him the starting job. (Also, the Parcells connection had to play a part.)
He could start on many teams in this league and the Parcells connection is overrated. Groh drafted him, he never played for Parcells and BP was gone after his rookie year.
