It's done... http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=858 Dolphins signed QB Chad Pennington to a two-year contract. Josh McCown can start booking his flight out of town, though Miami may also consider axing John Beck due to his unimpressive summer. Pennington, 32, has an offense to learn and stronger-armed Chad Henne to beat out, but is a candidate to start on opening day if the 'Fins decide against throwing their rookie into the fire. Pennington's lack of arm strength may be less of an issue in better weather, but his fantasy ceiling is even lower than it was in New York with poorer weapons. If he does win the job, he'll be on a short leash. Move to the NFL forum if you must, I thought it should be seen here first. EDIT: Updated rotoworld blurb
Jay Glazer Says Pennington Lands in Miami -- a 2 year deal See this link: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8429012/Dolphins-sign-Pennington-to-two-year-deal Gosh, guys, the drama continues...!
Wow, this hurts. I was hoping Chad would go somewhere where I could continue to root for him, but now I can't. Chad vs. Favre week 1 is going to be crazy, Chad's gonna want to win that one sooo bad. It's going to be weird seeing him in another uniform, and a Fins one is tough to swallow. Do I have to change my username now? Ugh.
Right, all you members with Pennington screen names are going have to get creative quickly or be named after a Dolphins quarterback!!! Here come a hundred threads titled, "My new name is..."
He made a big point today that if he went somewhere it would not be because of a desire for revenge or to show people in any way shape or form. It would be because he really liked the team's prospects for a championship. ...wonder what that means?
wow i sure do hope that the jets win that 1st game, this could get ugly quickly if pennington leads the dollfags to victory over favre and the jets
Brett wanted to go inside the Packer's division soooo bad just to spite Green Bay. I guess that must be the motive here, because this move makes no sense whatsoever. He had offers from other teams, and all those teams had to be an improvement. He's going to get killed now, and have nothing to show for it.
Here Vernon!! Here Vernon!!!!....Sit, stay, goood... ok go get em!! *Tears Chad apart* Good boy Vernon!
I suspect many fishfans (the ones I know from the Canes board is my sample) arent jumping for joy about this. they know he's better than what they had, but it's not like they got Brett Favre or anything. As far as why he ended up in Miami- they reached out to his agent- Parcells wanted him, he drafted him. I dont think its about revenge at all, its about going where he was wanted.
wow. i would have thought he would excel with a dome team like the Vikes.he's gonna get killed in Miami
