My goodness. He is probably the only person on the NFL Network with NOTHING positive to say about Favre on the Jets. Hell, he said we wont even make the playoffs this year. Did the Jets hurt his feelings when he played for the Steelers or Ravens?
He's good buddies w/ Donnie henderson, he was complimentary of us when donnie was here but I don't think he liked the way Donnie was let go.
Maybe that's it. He's been venomous. I never thought I'd ever say I prefer to listen to Jamie Dukes, but here I am.
Steve Young, on the other hand, was very positive about Favre and the Jets. Which was great to hear. He compared it to Joe Montana going to KC, when he took the Chiefs on their deep playoff run.
We might not make the playoffs.....the Favre move will go one way or the other....I don't think there can be an in between. He puts us in the playoffs or completely out of it.....I don't think 8-8 is an option.....it'll be 10-6 or better or it will be 6-10 or worse.
That we won't make the playoffs? I think we have a darn good chance, but with a brand new Qb, there's a lot to work out in a short amount of time regardless of who that QB is. I just want to be realistic. Look at my avatar....that's my other team. Both haven't won a championship since the late 60s, so I am over expecting anything until I see it.
That article that Clayton wrote on ESPN yesterday about Favre "losing out by going to the Jets" was absolutely horrible. Pure trash. To end the article, the last line wrote something like: "...and Favre lost because he didn't even want to be a Jet and now he's stuck somewhere he doesn't want to be." "He flexed his muscle and lost against GB management and he's the loser in the situation." Wrote something to the effect - Jet fans are happy, but Favre isn't. Haters. :hackett:
No that we would bottom out, I seriously doubt that it would happen with the way the roster is. Sure it is possible that we miss the playoffs but I seriously doubt an encore of last year with Favre and the additions that we brought in.
I watched the NFL Network last night when Woodson was ripping on the Jets....even Jamie Dukes was giving Woodson the "stinkeye" because of the negativity.....and Jamie Dukes is as dumb as they get.....
Rod Woodson aka Mumbles, did show a particularly one sided view of the JETS last night and I thought too he seemed to have a general issue with Gang Green. His assessment however was not far off in as much as chemistry is key to a winning program and although I think we are MUCH better off than last yer it's going to take time for these new pieces to jell My issue with Mumbles is that he said we were the 3RD BEST team in the AFC East, THAT'S where he's off his friggin rocker. Buffalo is better but IS NOT better than us. Period He of the pastel colored suites and the obvious speech impediment needs to get his facts straight before he opens his mouth Period
