    From Cimini's blog at nydailynews.com:

"Could Chad Pennington come back to haunt the Jets? Maybe.

The Dolphins, run by a former Jets coach named Bill Parcells (the same guy who drafted Pennington in 2000), have contacted Pennington?s agent about the possibility of playing in Miami, the Palm Beach Post is reporting.

Technically, Pennington doesn?t become a free agent until 4 p.m., when his release becomes official, but the Jets gave him his walking papers last night when the Brett Favre deal came down.

The Dolphins have an unsettled QB situation, and Pennington would be a nice fit. The Chiefs and Vikings also could be interested."

Yea, but Miami has NOTHING at QB and they play in warm weather, better for Chad's weak armed throws. Chicago with the cold and wind would be a bad idea

Minnesota is the best place for him. He'll have a good running game and 11 dome games this year

Minnesota could make things interesting. A great RB helps his solid play fakes significantly.

I'm not too worried about him going to the Fins. It's not like Chad's been held back and has all of this untapped physical potential. We're not going to see anything unexpected if he goes to Miami. We know exactly what he's capable of.

What? Like Ray Lucas came back to bite us? Screw the fins. He would dumb to go down to Miami with that offense.

I hope he goes to the Phins. That's one sure way to guarantee that they're not a threat to us this year, especially after they got rid of Jason Taylor.

Personally, I'd like to see Chad go to the Vikings. They're ready to make a run with the team that they have and their only real missing ingredient is a decent QB. If Chad is free to sign with anyone, that would be a real sweet deal to take if they make a run at him. They did upgrade their WR corps a bit this year too and their OL is one of the best in the league. He'd be stupid to go to Miami. KC might also be a decent option but Vikes by a mile if they target him.

If Chad lands a starting job in Miame this board could get interesting. Especially if Brett is not the 38 year old superman/genious eveyone thinks he is.

At least Chad would instantly be the starter and has the time for the team to develop an offense around him. Ive never been a huge chad fan but he is sound fundamentally and has a high football i.q. If only he had more arm strength and durability.

    Best of luck Chad.

I still don't understand why we are dumping him instead of trading him - is he THAT undesirable?

While I'm glad the JETS have upgraded the QB position, I still would like to see Chad do well..... if that goes to Miami that changes! :finssuck:

Minnesota makes the most sense, but I'm sure it comes down to where he gets to play and make more $$$

Probably trying to give him the quickest opportunity to catch on with a team, instead of dragging out a trade. Although every team knows the JETS won't keep him either way, hurting any trade value.

I think it's a matter of getting under the cap and a gesture to Chad. Why send him somewhere he doesn't want to go when you can free him to pick his own spot? Whatever pick you get back isn't worth the time, trouble and disservice to the player.
