This is the happiest I have ever been as a Jet fan. I left my dad a note on the fridge. He will be so thrilled. He always tells me when he was a teen he saw Joe Namath at Shea, and he bet on the Jets during SuperBowl 3 even though he knew nothing about football. I am so getting a Favre jersey for my birthday.

holy shit, and the WORST we can do is a 2nd rounder. C'mon, this was a great deal.

Well, it looks like the pro-Favre contingent got their wish. Let the games begin. I hope he is the Favre of 2007 and not 2005 / 2006.

Actually, Favre threw 46 TDs not including playoffs. Hey, the Packers had it going on last year, no doubt. Even so, 28 TDs and 15 INTs is good, not great. In the 3 seasons before last year Favre threw 68 TDs and 64 Ints.

If you want him running the Jets O, that's fine.

But my opinion is, the Packers don't want him back for a reason. I think bringing Favre in will prove to be a mistake, should it come to be. The Jets should already be a borderline playoff team. Bringing in Favre heightens the expectations, which also increases the hurt if it doesn't pan out.

I included playoffs. That's why I said he played 34 games.

this was definitely a great move....I wonder if he if or when he will see any preseason action....I thought this team would be built on a nasty run game with the revamped Oline and Tony Rich to block, but this move has added a downfield element that will instantly and hopefully put us into contention....definitely a great time to be JETS fan!

    Sorry.

Hey, despite what I think, I hope it works out for you guys. The AFC East needs to get back to being the best division in football.

Favre will definitely play in a preseason game. Mirer played in the Vikings-Jets game in '99 and had only been acquired on 8/20 that summer.

THANK YOU SWEET JEBUS!!! BRETT FAVRE IS A NEW YORK FRICKING JET!!

Now watching the Jets this year won't be a complete nightmare every time the offense takes the field. Shit, it might even be a hell of a lot of fun!

Oh, and if you are a Jets fan and aren't thrilled about the upgrade from Pennington/Clemens to Brett Favre for at MOST a 2nd round pick, you are hopelessly dumb. That's right! I said it! THE HATERS OF THIS TRADE ARE HOPELESSLY DUMB...

    so there

Closing this thread down now. It had one hell of a run, but we have some other threads now since Favre is actually a Jet.
