Nah, that would smear his reputation and legacy. The HOF QB that accepted a bribe to leave football.

agree with you 100% the bucs may have a top 5 defense in the league, in addition i dont think we can say we have better rb's either, cadillac williams is good when healthy, so i'd ssay that rb's are a toss up

Is Williams participating in camp? I haven't heard anything about him lately. Last I had heard anything, it was that there's a chance he'll never play again.

I wonder if Chad Pennington is holding up the deal.Imagine if G.B said they wanted Kellen Clemens and draft pick.Would we be able to financially keep Chad and Favre. Pennington screwing us again imagine that.

is it possible for 1 team to say, "we'll renegotiate your contract and offer you X." and then he can tell that to the other team, and that team can say, "we'll top that."

    does it work that way?

No, because he isn't allowed to talk to either team. That's tampering.

I'm not sure. I don't think they're allowed to talk about changing his contract until they own his rights. Don't take my word for it though - I definitely could be wrong.

Shefter's update on this as of 3:30pm....sounds like it's a waiting game...the Bucs and the Jets have both sent in their offers...there's no bidding war...the Packers are taking their time making a decision.

what about his agent? or if the Jets FO tells the Packers FO that they'll redo his contract, then the Packers FO tells Favre?

there has to be ways around tampering.

If so...the Pack has to be considering the fact that if he goes here...he can't beat them week 4 or possibly in the playoffs until the Superbowl?

I'd say odds are in our favor, depending on the offer. If they're about even, Favre probably is in Green and White.
