i got it.. from post re: tb forum GM Bruce Allen has made it back to Orlando to inform Head Coach Jon Gruden of the latest news surrounding a deal the would bring Brett Favre to Tampa, from a very creditable source that has fist hand knowledge of the situation. The team will be announcing a news conference to inform the media that they have reached an agreement in principle with the Packers for the rights to recently reinstated QB Brett Favre. The deal in place is for Brian Griese and a third round draft pick with conditions tied to the pick that could become as high as a 2nd rounder should the Bucs reach the Superbowl.

also another thing that sounds fishy, can you really put a stipulation in a trade that says compensation will go up if the team makes the superbowl? i find that to be a little hard to believe for instance, lets say that team x trades with team r and compensation is based on wins or a playoff appearance, well what if team x plays team r in week 16 or 17 and team x is out of it, they might be inclined to not try as hard so they would get a better pick, either way there is a smelly smelly bull turd and i think its coming from tampa bay
At this point it doesn't matter if we get him or not. It speaks volumes for what Mangini thinks about the two bums we have now. So if it's not Favre this year it will be somebody else next year. Maybe now we can stop the bullshit about Clemens being the saviour of this franchise.

I use google news too :wink: Sometimes it seems like I get the emails with a bunch of news items, some of which are 10 minutes old, even 30 minutes. I'm not sure how often they get sent, even though I have it set to send me every single news item mentioning "New York Jets" as it happens. Who knows.
It appears to me that with all the speculation being he is going to Tampa I'd say we have a pretty good shot to land him considering speculation is usually never right.
