This is pretty good stuff, but you forgot #7, the Jets Press Conference after week 4: 7. "I... uh.... we're at the Bye and we're 1-3 and uh... (sniff)... I'm really having trouble with this... (a tear appears). I'm thinking now, now that the Jets have given me the signing bonus and all this guaranteed money... (chortle... sigh...), that maybe I uh... OOOOHHH THIS IS SOOO HARD!!!! Uh... maybe I should have (bursts our loud) AHHHHHA.... OHHHHH... (tears streaming down now)... maybe I should've stayed retir.... retire..... RETIRED after all because (water all over his face, running down microphone)... I'm letting these Jets fans down and coach Mangini and most of all.... EEEEEEEAAAAAAOOOOOWWWW.... This is SOOOO difficult.... I'm letting MYSEL.... (ugh, gasp, wheeze)... uh... MYSELF DOWN TOO..... ERRRRRRGHHH... I can't go on.... Please, please... shut off the mikes."
While Favre is being ridiculous in dragging this out, I fail to see what the Packers are thinking in not bring back a Top 5 NFL QB in favor of Aaron Rodgers. Yes, I understand that they want to "move on," but when you go to overtime in the NFC title game, I think it is worth giving the team another shot. Favre seems to only want to play for the Vikings...they have a great running game and defense, need a QB and play GB twice-a-year. He refused to give GB a list of teams he be willing to accept a trade to, so, I have zero embarrassment over the fact he doesn't want to play for the Jets.
^Good stuff 227:lol: I can't wait to hear him make an ass of himself as an announcer, like Boomer on MNF.
He is responsible for his own decisions and how this has turned out. If he had decided to stick around another year, Green Bay would've let him. However, he decided to RETIRE. Everything that has occured since that point is his fault. GB FO has handled it badly, but he created the situation. If he was so unsure about his future, he should've waited. His retirement act and crying fits at the end of every season are getting OLD. And it was one of the major reasons I never wanted to see him in a Jets uniform. I don't want to deal with that next winter. The man should have either kept playing, or retired. Being so indecisive and creating a media circus every 6 months, is sad, regardless of his records and history in the league.
8. Favre is a total dickweed. In 2005 Javon walker put up an 1,382 yard, 12 touchdown probowl season. The following year he was scheduled to make $515,000 and $650,000 the year after. Walker threatens to hold out for more money (he plays this season only to fuck up his ACL in the season opener), much to the displeasure of Favre who publicly criticized him. He basically called Javon a selfish baby who got drunk off of his own success. "I sure hope the Packers don't give in to him." "Maybe I'm old-school, but I always thought you honor a contract." "Whatever happened to buying into the team concept?" "I'd just as soon go without him." Favre talking about honor and dignity.... Please go away asswipe.
A crazy rich really good football player who spends a lot of money to help his team win? Or an off his rocker old man who leads an underground dog fighting ring?
Don't kid YOURSELF. I haven't wanted him since the beginning (and I have the posts to prove it), though I will admit I had Fruve-fever for a minute. That doesn't change the fact that he's a selfish dude.
Dont know if this link was posted yet ....just came across it before ... http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-1-77/Report--Jets-hold--serious-talks--on-Favre.html
I said "*barf*" edit: of the current HOF level QB's, Brady and Manning have taken pay cuts to get their guys, and neither have EVER called out their teammates. That pretty much it in a nutshell. Plus the shock value was too good to leave on the table.
