Or maybe he is a moron. just look at his track record:

On February 28, 1997, Carton reported Philadelphia Flyers captain Eric Lindros had missed a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 15th due to being hung-over. Claiming the excuse the Flyers gave (a sore back) for Lindros missing the game was a cover-up. The Flyers immediately sued WIP,[11] resulting in an out of court settlement.[12]

    --Reporting false news. Great job.

In 2005, Carton became embroiled with an on the air feud with NJ Acting Governor Richard Codey.[13] Carton made comments about Codey's wife Mary-Jo's battle with postpartum depression prompting Codey himself to confront Carton in the studio. Carton would say "What Governor Codey ought to do is approve the use of medical marijuana so women can have a joint and relax instead of putting their babies in a microwave. Then all they want to do is cook Doritos. Women who claim they suffer from this postpartum depression ... they must be crazy in the first place."[14] Codey would go back to respond: "I wish I weren't governor, I'd take you out", but did not say he would challenge Carton to a fight.

--Making light of a serious disorder. Pure class.

Maybe he will heckle Coles about his childhood.

The Jets heard about this rally going down and called the radio stations to remind fans not to ruin practice. All the more reason to do it.

I'm sick of watching the second-rate team all the time too. These QBs we have are junk. Any chance to get a real QB, I'm all over it.

Yet another inspiring and mind blowing #28KMartin thread. How does he come up with such fresh ideas everytime? Your guess is as good as mine.

lol from the article you can already see that most fans spoke against it and i doubt the others would get involved, the funny thing is that some people think by 10 fans shouting get Favre the Jets FO is going to rush to the phones and try and get a deal.

I agree. I will so bummed if Chad is the starter I will not be pumped for the season. What's the point? If CLemens can't beat Chad all that means is that Clemens sucks not the Chad is any different then he was. He has no arm!!!! We have not vertical passing game!!!

This Favre business is total nonsense. This guy is not coming to New York. He'd likely have a Randy Johnson meltdown at the first indication that he's not universally loved. Moreover, he's been running the same offense for a decade and a half. It's not likely a guy who lamented the rigors of training camp for the last four years or so while he's been doing his retirement dance is going to commit himself to learning an entirely new system at age 38 under the New York microscope? As Nelson Doubleday once said, "This isn't Paducah."

This system is totally designed for Chad Pennington. It's obvious. They've opted to go with a power running game and a new over the middle threat. This suits Pennington's talents. The Jets are absurd for opening their mouths regarding Favre. While I mostly applaud Tannenbaum and Mangini, it's clear they have a lot to learn.

I'm not in love with Pennington's decreased arm strength, but his decision making and accuracy are still top notch. I would prefer to see Clemens get the shot, but he has to earn it. So far he looks like a dud.

I found the results of the poll attached to the article more interesting then the article itself. Appears that there's very little support out there for Kellen Clemens according to that pole. I guess if you removed Favre as an option then Clemens % would probably rise quite a bit though.

If Carton stays around for the PM practice, i'll be sure to throw shit at him.

He is the most inept loser on the radio. I feel bad for Boomer. I can't listen to the show because of Carton. His name is Carton.

he is a moron, and it has nothing to do with the planned demonstration.
all he does is hang up on anyone who doesn't agee with his opinion, then ridicule them when they can't even defend themselves.
    a total asshole.

Carton is 100% right. Favre is a much better & more durable QB than Pennington, even if he is 7 years older. If you had to bet as to which QB is more likely to go through the next 2 years without breaking down injured, you'd go with Favre. We spent a ton of money to improve this team. Why not improve it that much more?

Regardless of what his opinion is, and if you agree with him or not... the guy going to training camp with a bullhorn to chant "Get Brett" makes him a moron. Do you actually think him doing this will make the FO get Favre? Give me a break. It accomplishes nothing besides getting him more attention. People can think whatever they want, but have some tact. This guy is an attention seeking low life prick.

I personally find it entertaining. Tannenbaum could have ended all of the speculation early by just saying we're not involved in any persuit of Favre. Instead, he neither confirms, nor denies interest & leaves his QBs & fans dangling in the wind. To me, what Carton is doing is not so much an indictment on Chad, but management. 1) Fix this team & give us something good to watch & 2) Stop playing all of these mind games with everybody.

Yes. Because Tanny has done nothing this offseason to try and improve the Jets.

BTW, the Pack wants a 1st rd pick. That is absurd for a 1 year rental QB.

you know what? #28 is right. we deserve a first rate qb. chad gave us some great years and really did bring some excitement to the meadowlands, but his time is up. after 2 shoulder surgeries, his already below average arm is now pitiful. he also keeps hurting that ankle which will most likely happen again, unreported, just like last year. our other current option, clemens, has so far proven that he cant shake his staring down receivers problem, and is getting picked off left and right. with what we did this offseason there is no reason that we should settle for this yugo quality quarterback play when the rest of our team is a mercedes benz. carton should be looking to get something stirring. so should all real jets fans. we can win with favre. its not garaunteed (nothing is in the NFL), but our chances are a hell of a lot better with him than with what we have. anyone who cant see this by now might need to brush up on what it takes to win a football game. im not saying chad doesnt know how, but he is missing the second biggest tool behind the mind: the arm. LETS GET BRETT!!!!

The Packers aren't looking for a first rounder. There was an article the other day that said they were looking for a conditional pick that would guarantee them at least a 3rd or 4th & potentially escalate to a 1st. If Favre plays 2 years for us & wins us a SuperBowl, they can have a first. 2 years + playoffs, I'll give up a 2nd. Otherwise they can have a 3rd, and I'll deal with it.

Also, I do agree that they've upgraded the team significantly, but we can still only go as far as our QB will take us. The QBs on our roster won't get us very far. All that offseason spending will go to waste if we don't upgrade at QB.

come on... you and I know what they say they want and what they take will be 2 different things... unfortunately, the pack have created a circus for themselves, and lost any leverage of what they want. Farve can make that place a joke in one day and they know it...

A first rounder is a starting point for negotiations at best. they know they won't get it... they were hoping he'd just go back to his whole and shut up... it didn't happen and panic is about to set in when he reports...
